I like this car - apart from the front lights, which look like they're off a 6 series, which I've never liked

I don't know if the design has just grow on me or what, but these are the first shots where I've actually found the new Z4 really attractive.

This is definitely fire.
They butchered the 3 but the 8 & Z4 gives us hope. |

It is plastic. You can tell since the plastic trim gets a darker nuances than the body color. If BMW would not be cheap like others and apply two coats of paint on plastic instead of one, or pre-color primer and second coat of paint, that would not show.
But, it shows... There you have it. |

Indeed. It also looks like the hood is actually the upper half.
I don't like this and think the new 3-series looks cleaner without the front hood line. Sure, with the Z4 they were able to move the side hood lines further down into the fender so they are hidden from a direct front-on view, but now the side looks way too busy where the air breather is because we have an eye sore fender gap acting as part of the upper character line that just cuts right through the center of an otherwise svelte looking side breather/fender area. And what was the point when they still left the ugly looking front hood line anyway? It's not like anyone notices a traditional lower rocker panel/fender gap either. I don't get this one.
