2022 Z4 Stop Sale

Any info on 2022 Z4 Stop Sale - Armrest? What will it take to lift it and when can it be done?

Really depends on when they can get the fix for whatever caused the stop sale.

What is the issue, and what does this mean? I have a 22 Z4 M40 that has been released to the trucking company and I am waiting for it to be delivered to the dealership. Does this possibly mean they will not be able sell the car to me once it arrives at the dealership?

Bad News - If the stop sale has not been closed they can't sell it.

Good News - Can't be to big of a deal as the dealer will be expected to close it out. Most likely a part shortage.

My 2022 went though this. Stop sale at the port - part installed car shipped to the dealer

Stop sale at the dealer - part needed programming.

Released in 2 days.

Not sure if the stop sale is the same as we were seeing during the RAM shortage, but I was able to track the stats of the hold on my car resulting from the RAM shortage using the link. Maybe it will show your car's status also.

I just checked my VIN on this site and it shows "No Open Issues Found", so maybe I am good to go. Thank you for this info.

I hope so too, but I don't know if stop sale issue would show up in the tool. I do seem to recall that someone had a stop sale because of some missing label and it showed up in the tool.

For me, my car was put on a ship with the RAM missing. The RAM was installed at the port in California with no delay at the port.

My 2022 was caught in the same no RAM cycle. Car was held at the port for a few days & the part installed. Held another 2 days at the dealer to get it programed.

Thanks all. Looked up my VIN, and came back with No Issues Found. Not really a recall, but a block on selling the car until whatever the issue is gets remedied. Might be only on specific vehicles not all in the model. My dealer said BMW told them it would provide updates on all Stop Sale notices this week sometime. Fingers crossed.

Good news. Stop Sale lifted. Only required retensioning a bolt in the armrest that if not right tension caused a noise. Quick fix. Glad BMW pays so much attention to quality. One of the reasons the drive is so amazing. Corporate could be better at providing timely info and approvals to dealers and customers, and I hope they are working on it. That said, I am loving the 2022 Z4 and can’t wait to get back in it for another drive!
