TBH not really sure. It could be in software for active sound on the S30 drive

My 30i does have burbles, pops and bangs when in sport plus mode.

They aren't as pronounced/sharp as the 40i, but they're definitely there.

Thanks but isn’t the valve open in the sport plus mode?
Even in sport plus mode I don’t get any pops. Becamos lauder but nothing more.

Is not always open in sportplus. Start the car in sportplus when cold, check the flap for a few minutes and you will see how it closes. It will open and close while you drive.It depends on engine temperature and acceleration.
After testing the sound for a few months with the valve always open, it feels like there is another valve that opens when cold like first time in the morning and when engine is really hot.(maybe in the exhaust manifold)
If you drive for a while in sportplus at high rpm with the exhaust valve stuck open and then stop,leave the transmission in neutral, rev the engine and the sound is really powerful.
