Here in Europe it's possible. I didn't get it because even thought I like it a lot,from what I've read it is an extremely delicate paint.

Don't get your hopes up, the factory does not work weekends right now. Just be glad yours will be complete before Europe goes on vacation in August.

Unfortunately, BMW USA limits which trims get which colors. A G29 example is the USA base model S30 without M Sport package gets a sweet dark blue. The higher trims do not allow that option. Likewise, only the M40 is allowed the Frozen Gray Metallic across the pond. In this method, if you see that color then you know it is the highest trim package.

When I built mine, I was hoping Mineral Gray Metallic was a choice. Alas, it is not a selection for the G29 over here.

I've read the same articles on this paint and in some ways it is easier to maintain, just requires a little more diligence.

It's cutting real close. 10 week point from when order was put in would be July 30th. The fact that I got a production slot same day that I put in order gives me hope that it'll get to me closer to the 8 week rather than 10 week or later.

Aside from just sheer anticipation ... just worried that our work are going to require us to go back in full time when we only have 1 car. LOL

Looks similar to what we are offered here? Here's a screeenshot with the understanding that you can also add Alpine White. The colors with a "!" are not available with M Sports Package.

Yup, that's the deep blue I'm talking about. I saw one about 3 weeks ago in the bright Texas sun and .

First g29 Z4 I saw in the road was that color near my house. It is disappointing that certain colors are tied to specific builds. Makes no real sense to me.

If he is doing the Galveston to Houston run around 11 JUN, ask if he can do the same for a grey m40 with black leather/alcantara seats.

We're getting close to the new model year. Not sure of the exact date but I believe the 2022 model designation will begin in July. It took until September for the Configurator to start showing 2021 last year. You are certainly getting a 2021 as your car is being built.

Yes I know about getting a 2021. The question was more so being worried that there will be a delay before Germany takes a month off in August.
