Z4’s in the Wild
I snuck up on this herd of Z’s in the wild. If you look closely you can see the older members circling the younger member, a blue G29. I was able to approach and join the group for the day. I love nature!

I'm impressed they allowed you to approach. I hear they are a skittish bunch.

I met an awesome group of Z enthusiasts here in Georgia and our line of 8 Z cars had a twisty top down drive through the mountains. Yet another bonus of owning a Z-Car! This also officially ups my total to 3 G29’s that I’ve seen in the wild. If you take out these BMW meet ups, it’s still 1.

So, apparently there are two Z4s on our island. We saw a white i30 last night at a nearby intersection and today I found myself behind him coming back onto the island. Now I am thinking it was this very car that got my attention several months ago and got me looking at getting a new car.

Funny, you guys have seen more in the wild than me. I have yet to see one in the wild that was not a BMW event or Dealership.

I don’t even see the white one that used to drive around my neighborhood anymore. Theirs was an S30i without the sports package. White exterior. It was nice to see here and there. Only twice did I see it. Haven’t seen another one since I picked mine up.

I hope they gave you a brochure for the Z Series Car Club of America. I think that was Steve Minbs' groiup. We are a pretty active bunch. July 4 to 12 we held our annual ZFEST in Greeneville, SC. Next year's event is scheduled for Snowmass, CO.

I saw alot of those posts on a Z4 Facebook group I joined. Looks like a ton of fun. Little far for me to drive though, unfortunately. Plus, I'm introverted, so I'd need someone I know to go with.

These photos are from the drive organized by Steve this past weekend. Wonderful group of people. Unfortunately I found out about ZFEST after the fact. I’ve already signed up for the Fall Drive in Maggie Valley. I do need to sign up for ZSCCA. Driving out to Colorado would be quite a drive, but maybe by next year we’ll give it a go.

Interesting note, this morning I passed by a gold E89. That driver then had to catch up to me and paced me for 5 minutes at speed gawking at it. At a light, he said he couldn't believe mine was a Z4 but was duly impressed.
He wouldn't have caught up if I was past the break-in. Still got 1,000 miles to go. |

I like the exhaust note much more in sport+ ... but them downshifts lol little rougher when trying to come to a stop. Saw an E85 on the road on my way up to my future residential area and gave a wave. Saw a couple E89 on the road and did the same. I do think not too many people know that the G29 even exists. That's so satisfying. lol |
