New car options/suggestions?

I factory ordered a 2022 Audi RS5 Sportback but was just informed that delivery will be delayed until November (realistic is probably December). I have the opportunity to cancel the order, but I'm just not sure what else I even want to explore (limit is around $100k...new not used).

Obviously a factory order from most manufacturers are either delayed right now or missing equipment so I'd have to snag something that's incoming but not sold, or dealership inventory.

Any suggestions? Has to be a 4 door. I'm leaning towards keeping this order as it's built exactly to my spec, but I'm also impatient and don't want to wait that long nor take delivery in the middle of winter.

I've looked at so many options but everything seems to have one reason or another as to why I don't pull the trigger.

Probably a pretty obvious response given the forum we’re on…G80 M3?

Unfortunately there are very few available in inventory (in Ontario, Canada) and a factory order would take longer to arrive than the RS5. Also BMW makes me nervous with the amount of options that keep being removed or stop orders on as a result of the chip shortage.

Probably best to stick out the wait for this order, I know you love the RS5 and while the wait will be long, there's just such a great feeling about getting a car that's been custom spec'd to your own preferences.

I'm assuming its $100k CDN, which is about $80k US, so here's my list:
1) AMG C63 - May be hard to find in Canada, but an end of an era V8.
2) G80 M3 - If you can handle the looks.
3) Giulia QF - You don't keep your cars long enough to worry about reliability.
4) Model 3 Performance - If you don't mind some Tesla quirks could be a fun experience.
5) Charger Hellcat - American quality, but an end of an era V8 that screams!
6) AMG CLA - A bit tight on space but a fun little rocket with a firecracker of an engine.

Seems like you like your Audi's so I still think the RS5 Sportback will be the best fit, but that's all I could think of for new sedans at $100k CDN.

If you’re feeling rebellious, and wouldn’t kill yourself if it blows up and you lose $60k USD, E90 M3 plus supercharger. I was shopping RS5s and once I drove a manual E90 and visualized it with 600+ hp it was game over. I’m 90% through my build and couldn’t be happier.

All good suggestions! My budget was (for this forum sake) $100k USD so roughly something under $120k Canadian. Keeping in mind that cars cost more here (my RS5 that's on order is about $110k the way I have it spec'd). Doesn't really move the needle as far as what's available though.

I'm taking a hard look at this C63s but I don't know if I'll regret it once it's an "old style" next year...despite the loss of the V8.

Unfortunately I'm sticking to new stock. There's a lot of choices I could look at in the used market for this budget, but I just don't want to go down that road just yet (maybe when I'm older and have less commuting for work and parental duties lol).

Beautiful spec, pretty much fully loaded. I don't think you'd regret it, plus you'd get one of the best V8's in the business, and it the last for the C which may influence the future market. The exterior and interior are very nicely designed so they won't age poorly, and the only dated aspect in my opinion is the infotainment which can be solved with CarPlay. Only issue with the car you posted is the bucket seats are very stiff, not the best for a daily compared to the normal seats.

Yep gotcha. No warranty plus insane mods = huge risk vs. new w/warranty.

I love the spec as well. Loaded with the exception of ceramic brakes and ventilation on the AMG sport seats. Speaking of the sport seats, I completely agree with you on the comfort front and would have rather it came with the comfort seats (still nice looking buckets still just way more livable). The C63s ride is very firm as well, even in comfort settings so the seats wouldn't be helping there either.

I just browsed the dealer link you posted and immediately got jealous of the fact that you guys get both the C43 and E53 in wagon forms!

Have you looked at the G30 5er? I just had a 2021 as a loaner and I was actually really surprised by it. Great car, super sharp looking. A bone-stock M5 hits right around your price range, but the M550i is considerably cheaper(~$77k US). I feel like a well optioned M550 is a very solid contender here. I haven't been in the new Audi "5" cars but the new 5-series is a really great chassis, it's my favorite since the E39.

That's so dumb they sell that in Canada but not here. C class wagons are super cool, too bad they don't make the C63s in wagon form.

Canada loves the wagons! No C63 wagon but at least the AMG Lite variants are available.

5 series size is too big, and if I was going to consider the M5 I'd probably go with the RS6 Avant or E63s. However all are $130-150k in Canadian dollars so outside of my price range for now.

My suggestion would be worded in an exact manner. Although it seems like a long wait, it really isn't as many options exist to pass the time while not reducing the fun factor. Turo is one such option.

They do, just not in North America. C63 Wagon is exclusive to the European market sadly

They also get more cool stuff like CLS63 and CLA45 Shooting Brakes!

Anyways, back to what car OP should buy, got a little distracted there for a minute once I saw the wagon lol

This is a great option. Get to try out a bunch of fun cars too without actually committing.

Definitely not a bad option. I don't have to cancel my RS5 order and I have the RR today daily drive in the meantime, so I could weekend test a few options.

I love wagons and hatches, but that CLA is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. It's like a Toyota Matrix and an old R Class had a kid.
