Very nice! What’d you end up choosing for options?

I'm concerned it will get here too fast :-) I'm trying to time delivery to match the lease return on my M240i vert. I'd doing PCD this time, so that will probably slow it down a bit.

It will not be fast, trust me

The build was incredibly fast, the transport from Austria to Bremerhaven also took only a week. However, it sat for almost 6 weeks at the harbor, a bit over two weeks on the vessel, and another week to show up at the dealer, ready for pickup.....you will be fine

On my 30i, the longest it sat anywhere was Paint and the first Port but total build from order to delivery was only 7 weeks. I'm thinking it'll be closer to 12 this time around.

Congratulations, and a great colour combo and spec. Since I've been a member here (6 months) you've always been the person most mentioned for comments in relation to the s30i. It will be great to hear your ownership views of the M40i.

Congrats, I know you have been wanting to get the M40i for some time now and you will love driving it.

What about the Active Cruise Control?
You may think you don't need it but it really comes in handy and does serve a purpose.
I really wish I had it on my car.

Yeah, it’s a great feature for $550. I love it now that I have it.

I will say I’ve quickly become enamored with the ability to set speed limit plus cruise control automatically. Not sure if you need adaptive cruise for that but it’s a very nice feature I think

And great looking car 👍

In the 2 years I've had my 30i, I've never set my cruise control. Never wanted to, never .. COULD for that matter. Too much traffic and i'm not driving long distances (greater than an hour). Actually had it on my initial build and realized... why do i need this? lol

Thank you! A part of me feels like I'm going against my own words when I say that the 30i is enough! It is... really is. There's something about the M40i that I've always envied and it has nothing to do with the power or the fun factor. Definitely something, simply more, personal.

I plan on doing a comparison video after the M40i arrives.

I did PCD. My car took 6 weeks from 'In the paint booth' until it arrived at the port in Brunswick. They won't schedule the PCD until BMW has received the car at the port.

In my case it was a week before they contacted my CA with the proposed date (which I accepted immediately). It was 3 weeks out from that. They typically schedule about 2-3 weeks ahead. In my case, I think part of the 3 weeks for me was due to Memorial Day weekend. There was also a big event with the Vintage in there. When we did PCD for our X5 two years ago the date was just over 2 weeks out.

This.

My wife's M340i has it. Once I used it in freeway traffic, I really missed it in my m240i. If it's a daily driver (it will be for me) and you do much urban or interstate driving, it can make a big difference on travel fatigue. On the other hand, if it's just a toy for back roads, then not so much.

I work from home. WHen I do drive i do alot of high way driving but again, rarely longer than an hour or so. I have adaptive cruise control on my other car... and i only use it when I travel to another city our out of state.

Think about the money you saved not ordering the wireless charger and add the ACC. You may think you don’t need it but if you do include it in your build it could potentially prevent an accident from happening.

Oh I do.. I think about the money I saved not getting ACC and the Wireless Charger haha. BMW also offered to do tint at the dealership upon delivery. Contacted my Auto Salon and they're like... yeah we do it for 399. WHOA that's another 300 savings.

Look, I almost took off the 875 HK system too

Forget about what some have posted, definitely keep the HK system!

That being said, flip a coin where it is heads to order it and tails to not get it. Call heads on ordering the ACC and I will be happy to find a 2 headed coin online and send it to you.

HAHA! That's funny... but the order is already in and underway. I was trying to find a middle ground on colors and options.

What i really want versus what I should/should not get to lower price to appease my wife.

Believe me, I was thinking of going alpine white again, with the red interior and no shadowline to further reduce the price. I just don't think I would have been truly happy with that combination. The portimao blue really hit me.
