Is there any benefit to the glass deflectors over the mesh one that comes with the car, other than looks?

The other reason is that I like how the car looks without any deflector. |

Thank you. I kinda figured I would just remove mine when the top is up and throw it in the little netted area behind the seats. I am assuming it's easy/quick to just slide it in and out?

I have the European glass wind deflector and I keep it in all the time. The difference in visibility is night and day and the reduction in cabin turbulence is not quite as good as the mesh version but I find it perfectly acceptable.

Are you saying the factory mesh deflector is better at reducing wind buffeting than a glass/plexi one? Did i read that right? If so, that seems odd to me....

Yes, the mesh doesn't redirect as much air into the cabin as the glass as some air passes through the mesh, but I've driven on the highway with the top down for hours, much of which was at what I would call "spirited speeds" with the glass deflector and it was fine. Having said that, the visibility improvement is significant, especially at night and far outweighs the small additional turbulence (IMHO).

With the top down I believe that removing it also makes the overall appearance of the car looks sleeker and more aggressive, especially when viewing it from the front or rear. Finally, I still have a full head of hair and love the sensation of the wind blowing though it but if you are really worried about turbulence at high speeds you can always wear a hat. |
