Just so I understand, you're saying it isn't going to spread exponentially here (US/worldwide) in the very near future?

Always playing the victim

I suppose the head of the CDC is in on it, right?

Well, you capitalized M in misspelled. Maybe "misspelled" is a proper noun or pronoun? And if you Google "braindead" you can find it spelled either "brain-dead", or "braindead".

Rich indeed. Lol.
I can blame Siri. Who is he going to blame?

And Mick Mulvaney who on one hand blames the press/Dems for fear mongering......................then says schools will most likely be closed along with other major disruptions.

It's crazy, but to be expected from this administration and its supporters.

Just so I understand you:

You are OK with illegals having every major disease known to man. coming across our borders. And btw that is what has fueled antibiotic resistant TB.

So you are against a wall, don't care that border patrol needs to put themselves at disease risk, and don't care if they make it in to sanctuary cities.

And no; I am not expecting a straight answer from you-as usual.

Dude you are beyond off the rails.............................

For the third time you claimed in the other thread that Trump closed the border 4 weeks anyway (so all fixed right?). Yet, you still haven't answered how he did that.

I have a feeling that some regular flu could be mistaken as the corona virus. But yea it is better to be safe then sorry. It's a outbreak that could happen.

Yea when thousands more die each month in the world from different kinds of viruses. This is all made up stuff in few weeks they will say we have a cure and every one will flow to get the shot and make billions. Just like the flu about 10 years ago.

This shit is overblown by the media and the markets are taking a beating as a result.

I say this as a medical professional.
Typical influenza mortality rate is 0.1%. Covid-19 mortality is ranging about 1%-3%. Which makes Covid-19 10x-30x more lethal than the flu. And that's not taking into account transmissibility, which would only serve to make Covid-19 even more lethal (when you factor in probability of infection).

Also, SARS was much more containable; only 8,000 worldwide was infected over the course of roughly 6 months. So far, Covid-19 has infected about 84,000 worldwide in about 3 months. Like SARS, most of the infections (and deaths) were in China, so lethality and transmissibility are easy to compare.

Just to compare, this year, 19 million people in the US contracted the flu, with 10,000 deaths. So far, there have been 60 cases involving US citizens(including those that were abroad), with 0 deaths.

As far as my thoughts on the Administration's handling of the situation, I think Trump's been doing an okay job. I only wish he was less self-serving when talking about the situation. I also think how this all turns out is going to make or break his Presidency; if this does become an epidemic across the US with thousands or millions infected, and the stock market tanks into recession territory, he's done. And he knows this.

On the other hand, if this turns to be just another passing of the wind (in his words, it "magically" disappears), then Trump proves he is bulletproof, and wins the election easily. I don't like Trump, but I like Covid-19 even less, so I would take Trump for 4 more years if it meant eradication of Covid-19.

Too many unknowns. We know, relatively well, what is happening in this country today. What we don't know is what happens by the end of March in this country AND how bad it will be around the world, specifically China.

I truly think that the counts in China may be understated by as much as 5-fold. If that is the case, this is the tip of the iceberg for the world, but we don't know about America.

The politicization of this, thus far, by the left...and I'm just calling out the last 48 hours, is counterproductive and ultimately dangerous. I'm sure you'll agree with that.

Just vote Trump and 401k will be back otherwise start looking into what cars Lada builds as to some Democrats - anyone who can afford BMW is rich 1%.

Disclosure: I am not in either party, rather in party of reason. So not sure who to vote for yet. But I'd pick trump over some socialist any day.

I speak daily with a number of folks on the ground in China. General consensus is that it's being downplayed by the Chinese government. They see the same illogical thing we do: The draconian response not matching up with the reported numbers.
