Yes, sorry for the late reply. It is a 2022. I wanted to wait for a 2023 for the manual...well, we know what happened with that. I am glad I ended up with a 2022 since they got rid of Silver for 2023.

Yes, it is a 2022. Thanks for the reminder. I am going gentle (so far). I do not drive a lot, since I work from home, so it may take me a while to hit the 1200 miles. At some point I may just have to take a road trip with the only purpose being to rack up the miles. haha

I don't have to pull up next to my Z4 to acknowledge how beautiful it is as I fell in love with it the very first time I saw one at my dealer's showroom. What I really enjoy is looking at the faces of Porsche owners when they pull up alongside me and check out the sexy lines of my baby.

Also I have had many conversations with Supra owners and the ones I have met are extremely knowledgable and know that we share the same assembly line at Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria. One Supra owner referred to our two cars as first cousins.

Also I was born in Vienna it's close to Austria. I was so happy to learn that the z4 is made in graz around 100-150 miles from vienna and not in Germany especially not in the US or Mexico. It came from my home and I miss Austria so much

Not the most recent Supra owner that I met who had one of the first MT's that Toyota shipped to the US. He was in his 20's was really knowledgable about cars and told me that if BMW had offered a Z4 with a MT that would have been his #1 choice. His license plate says it all.

there's nothing like putting the top down. And the tech is so much nicer. I've gotten so many compliments. Ppl love it because the z4 proportions are the best. It's the shortest car in terms of length and height even compared to old gen f22 2 series which was the shortest in length, yet at the same time thr z4 has a shorter wheelbase yet it's as wide as a new m4 or 5 series. The side profile is killer, and just from any angle the z4 is far superior To me than any bmw lineup today. The m4 may look nice from.the front (I got used to . grills) but then the wide profile shows a huge long back behind the front doors and it looks like it's been elongated unproportionally. Also in other bmws you seat in the middle or close to the front wheels. In the z4 we sit right in front of the rear axle. It stays planted far more than any 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 series. It beat the m2 comp on the track with just 335hp.

Usually adaptive or comfort. Sport & Sport+ will hold out 8th gear. 85MPH generally runs in the 2,000 RPM area in 8th.

Was with an X3 M something for about 120 miles. Some stretches' hit triple digits. Lots of low to mid 90's miles went by. Use WAZE & the CC as much as possible.

Traffic through this area is very very light once it turns colder & the summer beach goers are gone for the winter.

I'm guessing you head to Wrightsville or Sunset beach area? We have a place in Atlantic Beach that I would love to drive my car to however we always take my wife's SUV when we go down. Maybe some day.......

Yeah, Ocean Isle Beach just slightly north of Sunset Beach. We occasionally take the SUV, but prefer the Z4. The currant SUV a FORD has replaced the Chevy that turned into a submarine during the last storm.

Good plan not taking the Z4 to secure the house.

Were a few warnings which is normal but only actually saw 1 trooper in the east bound lanes checking a car that had its hood up. As long as I see a string of WAZE cars in front it usually works out.

What helps is the normal fast lane traffic is in the 85MPH range & in winter traffic is very light. Best summer was an 80.4 @ 31.5MPG. More typical is 78.5 @ 30.6. Seems you are slower & use more fuel because you are off the CC & using more power more frequently to pass.

Finished adding a trunk LED strip across the width of the trunk, ‘tapped’ off the existing trunk LED. I’d been meaning to use some COB (continuous) LED strip for something, and this seemed like a decent job.

Modified the existing trunk light, soldering in a connector for the strip.

Adds a decent amount of down-facing light. Could have just replaced the existing housing for a brighter one, but the light, to me, is in the wrong place.
