Hikes in Los Angeles area

Anyone know of any great hikes in the LA area?

i use to go to runyon a lot. I am going to start going again but also want to change it up that way i stay motivated and try not to get bored of the same spot.

I also see a lot of BMW in the parking lot of runyon. Who goes?

I like loop trails a lot more than in and outs. Among my favorites in the area is the La Jolla Canyon trail off of PCH way out near Mugu Rock - about a 6-7 mile loop with maybe 1500 ft altitude gain. Starting up higher in the Santa Monicas the Mishe Mokwa loop trail is a similar length with a bit less altitude gain. Both give really nice views of the surrounding terrain. If you're looking for a bit easier, loop hikes of varying lengths can be found in my backyard of Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks or Rancho Satwiwa in Newbury Park.

Topanga canyon. Views of the valley on one side Views of malibu on the other. It's never crowded and there's always parking.

There's a park with mountains in the valley, I think it's called Sesnon? Not sure. It's up north around Granada Hills. Great view, plenty of parking and good hiking.
