well, being that this is the photography portion of the forum, I think the response youll get is...D90
what I'll say is, you wont be able to process those pictures without a laptop that works....so also something worth considering...

I actually meant to put it on off topic.... I posted it here by accident cuz I was researching other peoples photos and forgot to go to off topic and post it lol. Well the only thing that doesnt work well is the CD/DVD other than that i have the other 2 problems I mentioned but the laptop is real nice and still is pretty fast and the Quality on it is realllly good. My brother is also a pro at computer stuff, hes studying to be a computer something I forgot but he usually helps me if I have any issues w the laptop (which I rarely do)

If you were going to pay 2k for a new laptop..that means you can pick up the d90 and ps3 with money to spare hahaa. But if you only picking up one i say d90 for sure.

D90!
Besides, you can get a pretty good laptop for under $1,000. Not a Mac of course, but I'm not a Mac fan. I'm a Windoze Kool-Aid drinker myself. D90$ + Laptop$ = same $$ as a MacBook. For a gaming system, I'd go for the Xbox 360 Elite instead of the PS3. That's what I did.....

D90 and a refurbished iMac from Apple's refurb store rather than a Macbook. You could get both for under $2k. Apple's refurb stuff is as new and full warranty.
Just got my D90 a week ago. Sweeeet! The video is better than expected after everyone dissed it. Picture quality is awesome. Still learning to drive it though!! |

skip the D90, unless you buy just the body and a separate better lens. kit lens = poo.
skip the Macbook and just use flash drives instead of discs. skip the PS3 unless you find yourself sitting bored at home a lot.

im a canon guy so sorry i dont really have a say on the d90. but i do agree, with one of the above. no matter what system you go for, the kit lenses are generally crappy glass. they are good for starters and will serve a purpose, but get only get some thing with image stabilization. i went and got a body and bought better lenses separately.

Canons are good, we have a few "older" Canons and theyre good, I just like what you get from the D90 Ive seen a lot of photos and theyre great and I hear the Video is pretty good to. I am thinking about the 5D Mark II though...Only thing Im worried about with Nikon is I have a few friends who have the cheap Nikon Cameras and they say they suck... I will probably go check out the Cameras at La Cantera tomorrow. I mean I'm open to suggestions to other cameras just as good as the D90 or in similar price range...

If you thinking of a 5d markII which is a great camera and your able to afford i say go for that..but i think theirs definitely a price deference between the mark and the d90. I guess it just comes to the dollar game at the end of the day for you.

Yea I know what you mean, if I get the 5D itll be around the end of March after I come back from California Im real unsure of what to pick.. theres a nice bump in the price of the 2 but theres also a nice bump in quality and such. But I'm liking the D90 for now, like Ive said before, this is my first time getn a Professional Camera so I dont need a "HIGH END" Camera like a 5D which is also why Im liking the price and what you get from a D90.... but all the advice and suggestions will help

the D90 will serve you well - just don't put cheap glass on it. stay away from anything that "zooms" unless you want to drop $1200 on a lens. otherwise, it's just consumer-kit grade. images from the D90 are on-par with the D300 - it's just the camera features and functions that will differ.
and with the 5D2, again, if you go that route, you're going to spend as much as the camera on lenses. you wouldn't want to put cheap tires or 87 fuel in your 135, would you?

agreed....the 5dmkii will set you back a bit in the lens dept
[insert empty pocket smiley] the d90 is a great camera though, nothing wrong with it especially if you are getting into photography (or even if youve been doing it for a while). photography is 90% you, 10% it but it certainly doesnt hurt to have quality in details

I got a D90 and im loving it...still get'n grips with it though...but it's a great camera...i just bought the body and went with a seperate lens....but if you are a beginer and then i think the kit lens will do...it's not a bad lens either for beginers....also consider the D40 or D40x if you can find one...those aren't bad cameras either...yeah the D90 has video, but you will hardly use it plus you have to manually zoom it when in video. don't get me wrong though its nice video quality. just check out the internet on reviews on the D90 or Canon and read on it and see which one will suite you...if you have any questions, PM me and i'll be glad to help as much as i can....good luck!
