Well.. it's probably more affordable than you think it is.

I got a brand new 30i for about 57k and then later traded up to the M40i for about 78k.

Don’t think about the price but approach this like you are playing Monopoly.

Make an appointment with a salesperson aka “go to jail” and get the prices for both the 30i and M40i.

It doesn’t fold down. I think you’re seeing the protective coating/film still on the display.

I’m sure that the protective film is still on it, but at first look the screen is horizontal instead of vertical.

I guess a trick of the light?

You can find some fantastic bargains on low mileage used models in nearly new condition, many with remaining factory warranty.

Saw that loaded 2024 Miata RF’s are now MSRP in the low 40’s.

I get in debates about a cars “worth”. IMO a Miata is very expensive at 40k+ due to its limited functionality.

The Z4 offers more bang for the buck in performance/usefulness/interior materials.

A lot to initial criticism on the G29 Z4 was it being too expensive, yet Miata has always gotten a pass.

You're looking at the most loaded trim possible. For most cars the "value" is in the base models. Even with that though, I think a loaded Miata is worth the asking price.

A car is worth what you or someone else is willing to pay for it, not what some bystander who has no skin in the game has to say about it.

Would expect it's generally people who can't afford it or are tightwads that will never have any fun if it costs them a nickel, are the first to comment.

If it meets your price expectations & you want to have it then it's worth it.

Z4, expensive but unnecessary, that's why it's called a Luxury item.

Yes that photo was playing tricks on me as well.

But look at the reflection of the passenger seat; shows that the screen must be pretty much vertical.

Also the silver trim, screen protector, and camera angle add to the optical illusion.

The slightly used pricing is even better - that’s what I should have done. These engines and interiors are pretty bulletproof, so saving $15-20k is a good idea for a low mile preowned.

Now you can be see it. The bottom edge of the screen is recessed. That changes the angle completely

I'm biased towards the red myself.

It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
