I like it, very modern and futuristic looking for the brand and I like that it still has some traits from the i3. The interior is really nice IMO. Wish the range were a little higher, would have been nice if they hit 350. The next round of Teslas will put this range to shame.

You can always get an iX3 which is basically an electric X3. That's where it is on my i3 and it has never bothered me.

What a fkin joke. Not only is it ugly as sin but the interior has that classic minivan appearance since there is no center console.
BMW is a radically different company now than the one I fell in love with, and by their marketing campaign they clearly think I'm the fool. I hope nobody buys this turd.

It's concerns like this that ruined the F80 M3/4 seats and made it impossible to install a pass through quick harness for track days. If it doesn't bother you in any practical manner, don't mind it, there is actually a real use for it. Granted, I'm probably not going to take this car to the track, but if I did, a quick harness would be very easy to install with these holes.
This is what I am talking about:

TBH I was expecting a complete dud and I am pleasantly surprised that it doesn't look bad. Tech is great I still feel BMW is far behind on electrification and is trying to catch up but making a lot of progress. Hope it sells well!

What an odd thing to say. I can totally understand if YOU don't want one, buy why take away something that someone else can appreciate?

I do agree however that BMW is changing towards something I am not necessarily identifying with. This is the first new car announcement in a long time from BMW that I haven't been disappointed in. The new G80 being the most recent. I think as a performance brand, I'm done with BMW M unless the new M2 really blows me away.

this is quite honestly a new low. The entire new line up is a generation to skip. Why make an electric car have such a large ICE front end - this whole vehicle is fugly beyond belief.
Solid no and hard pass for the whole brand from me. |

I have to say, I'm a bit confused at what is going on with the marketing department currently.
The main message is, "What's your reason not to change?" Well, I can give you a list, but besides that this commercial fell flat on its face in my opinion. First, it didn't really seem that convincing, I get the message, but the narrator almost felt like a cheap Matthew McConoughey that just keeps mumbling on with different rhetorical questions. The ending with the final message honestly didn't really connect that well with what the narrator was saying or what the ad displayed. Then we have the use of "hate comments," which only emphasized the fact that BMW is going against what they stood for. And some of the comments were really ironic. "Are you still making cars for normal people?" What? This on an ad for a car that will likely be close to the $70-100k+ range. And when did they stop making cars for normal people? Not like they haven't expanded the range of sedans and SUV's beyond its need with endless variations for the past ten years. Worst of all, the final comments felt like a slap in the face. The ad showed essentially that BMW sees our comments, from some of their most brand loyal customers who have been with the brand for years crying out "This isn't BMW. Go back to making BMW's," and instead of using that criticism to better themselves, they decide to put it in an ad, and then display their disregard for it. Almost a big FU to the enthusiast.

I was really hoping it would look better than tesla model x but it doesn't. Very disappointing.
The design team from the videos i watched think and speak like metro boys but perhaps its the expected clientele and makes business sense to use that design team.If you want a bmw badge and want an ev and cash to blow why not. |
