Is it just me, or does the AMG GT have a conspicuous resemblance to the Z4? It’s as if they took a Z4 and made a hardtop version out of it. The headlights, the hood, the fender vents, the rear bumper, the dimensions, the body lines…

Looks like a Z4 with a 911 on top of it.

I've seen a couple of these in person, and the forum actually had a discussion on these before they went into production. This is basically a Z4, but at 2x the price. lol (granted it has almost 2x the hp too lol)

Very different. From the moment you touch the door handle.

Or my personal favorite, the Z4 is basically a Fiat 124 at 2x the price! I definitely wouldn’t say no to the AMG SL, though (the top of the line one is pushing 3x the price of a Z4, though…yikes!)

Yeah, these are nice. More of an 8 series convertible competitor than the Z4. I think I’d prefer this over the 8.

I just read the C&D article - WHY can't BMW make an M Coupe again? Please, pretty please
BTW in fairness to MB, they had a GT coupe before, but this is a little smoother in the lines and proportions |

As someone that's coming from 7 Benzes in a row, I can say one of the reasons I'm going with the Z4 is because they abandoned the fun roadster segment when they turned the SLK into the SLC and gave it an end of life date, basically putting the SLK out to pasture. When that came out, I knew it was all over.
I'm coming from a 2019 E450 Cab, but several years ago had a 2012 SLK350 and that car was an absolute blast. MB is very capable of making fun to drive cars, but they've essentially reserved that for only their most expensive, high-end vehicles now. Last car I custom ordered was a Brilliant Blue 2019 C300 Coupe and it was beautiful--and maybe the worst driving car I've had in the past decade. I hear only rave reviews about the SL. Too bad you can't get one out the door anywhere for less than $140-150k, and those are the ones that are sitting. |

Ah, this is up for debate. I don’t see that as an M coupe, just a fancy Z4 with a hardtop.

But if you want a coupe, dare we mention the S....a, in such an up-scale thread?

When the new Z4 came out people said it had SL headlights, so which came first? The chicken or the egg?

That’s skyscraper. It looks way better in person and in real photos versus the stock photos/BMW website. I would have strongly considered it had I seen it in person before I ordered my car.
