The update on my side is that my dealer contacted me twice in the past two days.
First time saying that it could now take up to 6 more weeks and they haven’t got a clue when parts are coming. And the second time they said that BMW UK has advised them to give customers their money back as this could take a very long time. I refused and will continue to wait but they are killing my hopes.

Was your compensation the 2700£ you talked about?
Man, your font size is incredibly small! I can’t even read it!

Much better! These 51-year-old eyes weren’t what they used to be - even with readers!

[QUOTE=kennybb;30985748]BMW just called me the brake system parts have been installed and all working fine but there a software update now and that can’t be done because the battery dropped below 75percent as it’s been sat for 8 weeks so they had to order a new battery coming tomorrow and then do the update they have to do this before they can register the car and he’s saying might take a day after the update to clear the recall to then register the car lol you can’t make this stuff up . I’m hoping I can get the car tomorrow night or Saturday as he’s working weekend .

Hi mate bmw uk offered me £500 quid compensation I refused it and left so the garage gave me 2200 off the car so I can pay for my ppf . So 2700 back cash in total . I’ve had my wheels done and currently in for full Matt ppf and front window tints . I have noticed another fault drivers speaker led not working lol but I have that checked on my run in service . I don’t see why it should be weeks they got my parts in and installed ?

Maxton do a full body kit so just ordered that as well

Been a very stressful ordeal hoping there no more problems I find all dealers are really poor with customer support and service

My Audi R8 only 2 years old that’s been in the garage a week waiting a new back box on warenrty and still waiting the go head of Audi uk

How concerned should I be?

I wasnt even aware of this recall until a got an email with an option to look up any recalls.

Says no parts available.

I did notice that sometimes I felt like it took a bit more force or distance to brake but I thought maybe it was just in my head.

No lights or warning messages.

Sorry to hear of the folks dealing with dealership and long time with loaner cars.

Is this something I should stop driving the car over?

I asked my delalership if the car is safe to be driven and they said they cannot confirm that. So I left it there until they receive the parts.

If you take your vehicle in for service which is part of an active stop sale campaign, they will generally want to keep the vehicle and send you home in a loaner. They can’t make you leave it there, but they will try. This discussion will come up when they take your key fob and plug it into their terminal at service check-in.

Hi buddy, we have a group that has a really large stand on Santa Pod this June for the BMW meet, so if you are interested in attending you are more than welcome to join us. The XM looks great after the wheel replacement and the ppf!

Ps I am still waiting for the recall repair on mine…
