PA window tint laws

Had a little run in with the boys in blue today re: my window tint.

First time in 20 years I’ve been pulled over due to tints.

I’ve been told various things regarding tint in Pa. Any experts on the board?

Basically means 30% is max.

Ok now I’m confused..I thought if I had 20% that allows 20% light to pass. Like limo at 5% only allows 5% light thru. How is 30 ok if that chart says 70?

Why didn't you ask the boys when they pulled you over? Or just call a tint shop and they will tell you.

I’m sorry don’t know why I typed 30 when it’s obviously 70.

I did ask .. and what he told me ..compared to this chart ..and what I’ve been told in the past (from other officers) ...and tint shops ...and inspection stations ....is all over the place.

Seems to be a lot of variation in the rule and the enforcement.

Wow. Not sure 70% all around is even worth tinting them. I can almost hear the tint shop guy. "Man, I can get you 60% if you want."

NYS now has a hard on about window tint. don't listen to the tint shop, they'll put anything you want on. anything blocking more than 70% of light is illegal. don't be surprised for getting pulled over. It's PC.
