11/2020.50 OTA Update - any issues?
BMW is currently rolling out the latest iDrive 7 software update via OTA. The version is 11/2020.50 - rollout is in progress in Europe.
Anybody in the U.S. has been upgraded yet? Any specific issues after the upgrade? Thanks!

Live in Northern Ireland and the upgrade came through on Monday. All went smoothly and no issues that I have noticed as yet. I don't use Alexa so there isn't much in the upgrade for me to comment on. The main features of the upgrade are here

If I can't say 'hey alexa, cook my bacon and have a sandwich ready for me when I get home', then I'm not impressed.
Asking to hear what an M4 sounds like? What a waste of time and resources putting that in there. There's 100+ better things they could be doing. Rob |

Went through the update today. No issues other than the steering wheel heating option to start automatically at a certain temperature is gone now.

Same issue over here. Was a nice feature in cold climates.

Do you still have the steering wheel automatic heating option based on temp? Not that you need that in Florida... Seems hit and miss after the update.

On the X5 forum, they are saying if you disconnect the car from connected drive and connect it back, the steering wheel automatic heating option comes back. I haven't seen the update for either vehicle yet.

I have an issue with the software update.
I loaded the software via my phone a week and a half ago and haven't really used the car since. I was out today and let the engine run while I was in park hoping for the software to install but it seems to be hanging. How long did you need for the software to install one it had uploaded to the car & is that a progress bar to the right of the picture? If it is it didn't move while the car was parked. |

No worries. Supposedly coming back with the 03/2021 OTA release for those who lost it now (not everybody did apparently).

My wheel is now OK.....need to check out the passenger seat which seems to have lost it. Steering wheel auto heat came back after a restart.

Updated last Thursday
I got the update last Thursday. I noticed one minor issue. The clock was about 10-20 minutes behind. It was set to Automatically adjust so I unchecked the setting and updated the time manually. It wouldn't let me set it back to Automatic until I rebooted the system.
