Front tints could use some advice...

So I finally got pulled over for having front tints. My question is has this violation always been non fixable? I vividly remembering asking the officer if it was or not, his response being it was. Then the other day I received a notice from the court house to pay a bail amount of $300 I had to make a visit to my local police station and they told me there was a new reform in this law and that it was no longer fixable. Can anyone help me out here and tell me the truth? I do not want to pay this three hundred dollar fine, please help!

I don't know about that law but I would think that it's fixable if it was written before the law took effect (assuming the officer marked that it was fixable).

Its ludicrous the value of this ticket is in no way proportional to the violation itself.... if anyone can help me shine some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Tint tickets are such bullshit. I hate cali for not letting us have 35% all around like other states.

+1 I think I'm at 15% all around. I've been pulled for it once in 4 years of ownership and told the guy it was like that when I bought it and he let me be. Most of the cop cars in our area have their own front windows tinted dark (at least 20%) so I'd hope they wouldn't pull some hypocritical ish.
