Smile My HOME THEATER is Now Complete!

So literally after well over a year and a half of searching for potential ideas for my entryway and that final piece for my Home Theater setup, I finally had to create one, sort of.

You see, I have sooooo many Movies that I like that I simply could not put a single Movie Poster at the entrance. And obviously there are none inside the theater due to glare. But I wanted something that was tasteful, exemplified what Theaters are all about (or should be) and of course unique. I have literally scoured the web and reached out to various entities for specific pieces/images that I wanted most. All were dead ends. Including the likes of eBay, Amazon, etc.
So what I did was locate a few images of Sound Labs/Studios that are synonymous with the epic sound quality of Movies: DOLBY, DTS, THX. I carefully combined these images into one using photoshop (spacing, contrast, sharpen, etc) that I could then print out and frame. The result? My perfect and final piece to be seen entering and leaving our Theater.
It is 27x40 and perfectly centered and mounted.

You don’t have an all time favorite movie? Mine is True Lies.

Nice work on the poster!

Change that light switch and cover plate to one that blends with the paint color better. The dark cover on a white switch throws off the poster.

Very nice!

Maybe my designer OCD though wouldn't let me live with that light switch so close to the poster, but then it's centered on the wall so you can't really move the poster.... that shit would keep me up at night!

Haha. Yeah. The keyword is centered. And THAT would bug the shit out of me waaaaaaay more being off than having the light switch as close.

OP was in 2018. Now we have Dolby vision/HDR and Xbox one S and 8K. My Dolby Digital 1080p setup is still impressive to anyone who isn't a home theatre fanatic as most folks still just use the built in TV speakers to watch movies. My 20 year old setup blows the doors off modern day built in TV speakers.

I know what you mean by OCD. Some things don't bother me and other thing make me crazy. The poster absolutely had to be centred and the light switch would bother so I'd move it. Room looks great though.

I have wanted to cancel on more than one occasion for the delay. But my wife insisted we wait it out. I am glad we did. It is truly among the best made furniture (Italy) and the fact that it is modular, makes it very versatile. It will seat six adults.
Neither of us wanted the traditional theater seating. We can actually crash & sleep comfortably on this.

I really appreciate that my friend! All the glory be to God.
It's always refreshing and respected when folks can compliment and congratulate rather than hate.

Lightbulb

After 4 years, I am adding a new addition and upgrade to my Home Theater:
The new Klipsch Reference Premier -1400SW. 14in driver - 500w RMS & 1,000w peak output! I will be hooking it up today. But based on AVS and YouTube Reviews from Audio experts, this is one BEAST of a Sub!

I've owned a lot of Klipsch speakers. You can't go wrong with them.

My In-ceiling mounted speakers are BIC.

Nice. I frankly haven't auditioned any speakers for years except some Monitor Audio towers a few years ago. And even then, it wasn't an actual audition. Just heard them running as the store owner was breaking in the speakers.

Haven't had the urge to upgrade any of the speakers in my systems. The two Velodyne subs I have in my big system still kick it for me where one sub has a 15" driver and the other has an 18" driver. The magnets for both speaker weigh in at 40lbs by themselves. Supposedly the amps that are built into the both subs will do 1250W RMS with peak power at 3000W.

I'll have to look at the video reviews you've linked to see what's new.
