It's already gotten fat enough. I think the no manual option already has enough folks worked up, adding awd is probably too much.

Same with my ZL1, no squeaks or rattles in the car, there are some hard plastics, but not where you touch them.

Not even the C7 Z51 (sans supercharger) does well at the track. A few weekends ago I instructed in a Z06 from 2018 and the guy had already done the LG cooling mods and still had issues.

As for the Supra, there will still be plenty to buy it simply because it's not an American car. Toyota will need to up the power ASAP though. They also need to fix some of the styling as it's at "11" with all that useless aero crap and needs to be more at "8".

Amazing what having all that weight back there can do. I've seen a number of rwd 911's at ski resorts with less than clear conditions. People are babies about thinking awd is necessary for snow.

So now it's Z4 vs Supra vs Sting Ray which is the best value for money.

From a performance/bang for your buck perspective I'd say the Vette wins hands down.....I guess it really depends what you want to drive though. Each car will have their fans. I suspect that you'll pretty soon see way more Vettes than Z4's and Supra's combined so if you're looking for exclusivity then maybe the Vette isn't your pick

Says the guy who’s M3 ate its own rod bearings then fixed then the engine grenades. That’s rich.

When I test drove an SS 1LE awhile back, the ergo's fit my short frame, seat was comfortable.........but it has the same center stack as the silverado's and almost all the other cars in the lineup, so it's not that they were poor materials or layout, it just felt "meh."

cool story bro

Not sure how that is relevant to someone else's car overheating on the track

And you get a downvote for bringing up a traumatizing incident and throwing it in my face when it is totally irrelevant to this conversation. Do you win a lot of arguments like this?

Could not agree more.

Marketing clearly works so people think you need AWD when it's raining. It's stupidity like this that leads up to the G M3 with stupid AWD.

I've driven RWD cars in snow for years and years. Zero issues. Unless you live in the boonies where they don't plow the roads or at the end of a steep ramp it's quite useless.

The ONLY argument I'd give is four seats.
Other than that, none.

TBH: Because of this, my next car will be either an M2 or 911. I need to have access to a back seat for my daughter.

If I didn't need a back seat, this would be on the top of the list.

That's a subjective opinion.

I'm talking about actual quality, something you feel and hear.

I had to have all 4 door seals on my M3 replaced twice under warranty for squeaking. In the end, they ended up 3Ming all 4 doors.

The center vents had a rattle to them at freeway speeds.

The 2SS trim compares quite nicely to the base M3 interior san for a couple carbon pieces on the M. There is still plenty of plastics in the M3/4.

1 year into ownership on the 2SS 1LE, it is still a much quieter place to be compared to the M3 in regards to squeaks, rattles, noises.

I have no doubt GM will carry this improved interior from the GEN 6 Camaro, to the new C8.

Those who bad mouth them are either reciting something they read or is a perception they have.

GM has stepped up big time in every category.

if the Vette sells well, as I think it will, then GM will raise the price as they did with the C7. Once sales cool in years 2/3 they will discount...that's when picking one up will be the best!

even if you did need a back seat... its still probably a better buy to get the vette for 60k rather than an M2 and then get a cheap 4 door beater.

Even though the M2 and M4 are good cars. they are designed first and foremost to be a commuter car. Then the M division works their magic with what they have available. Its a compromise car. Better to buy a car that was designed to be a sports car in the first place.

As for reliability. Its an LS/LT v8 with a tremec gearbox. 6.2L with 500hp, less than 100hp/L so the engine isn't very stressed off the bat. only time will tell but I don't think there will be much of a drivetrain issue.

What you’re looking at are probably driveline heat exchangers.

Early Z06s did overheat. Later Z06s with the higher S/C plenum and auxiliary radiator do just fine at the track. The C7 Z06 was nowhere near spartan either.
