Once I started driving the car, the Cerium bits were pretty much the last thing on my mind even though prior to that I was worried as well...

The Cerion Grey nonsense on the black car was a deal breaker for me. My fall back plan was to get them painted, but after some creative nudging, I believe that I found a solution. I'll confirm in the morning, but i should be able to provide the part numbers for the black grills and the black things on the outer edges of the bumper.
Appreciate letting me know!

Man, I remember the feeling. Sorta like being a kid counting down the days to Christmas, only to be told that Christmas had been moved to an unspecified date in the future.

You'll be in before you know it though
At the port now!

I've done this several times... each time the wait pains ... and rewards!

In theory, I have black grills, mirror caps and the weird little trim pieces on the front on the way from germany. I'll post part nums when i get them.

Also sounds like the bmw US supply hubs will be getting all sorts of g29 parts this week.

Excellent! Very interested in those. Before ordering the M40i I checked out a 30i SFR with extended shadowline trim and black 799s and it looked awesome! So, unless these bits cost a fortune, I will be tempted to get them exchanged rather quickly. I would probably order CF Mirror caps though. I have them on my M235 (together with CF spoiler and CF MPE exhaust caps) and they look fantastic!

I wanted to get the front bits from them, but i was going to wait for the CF mirror caps. But, the black (painted) were only a little over $100, so i told them to go ahead and add them

My understanding is that the CF caps are the same as for the X2. Hence, they should be readily available.

Ok, that’s a bit low by BMW. Not offering the extended shadowline option for a nominal charge from the factory, but making us order the parts and paying dealer for swapping them out. (Well, for those of us (= me) who better don’t touch anything in fear of breaking it & voiding warranties.)

I agree that Red with Cognac interior looks great.

I haven't been able to sleep as I didn't want to wait the 8+ weeks to order a Black with Red interior, so I bought a black with black interior from a dealer lot and its in-transit now. I would have loved any other color but black interior... Never thought I would sell my M235xi conv, but after test driving the M40i I just had to have the car this spring! I will miss all the positive comments I get with the red interior. Oh well.

Black on black will look good ... too boring for me though... I am coming from a Coupe M235... probably will keep both given I plan to not beat the z4 through the winter...
