In my experience, I didn't get much info from anyone until my car was "In Transit" for a day or so. That's when they gave me the ship name, ETA to US Port, etc.

Any other time I called or talked to anyone, all they could really tell me to do was check My Garage for a status.

Thanks! I just talked to the Genius team, car is still in transit interestingly they told me the car will come in port in NJ not Baltimore. Anyone know how to locate ships from Bremerhaven coming into port in NY/NJ?

When looking at the WW schedules, it lists New York, NY. When you click on that it expands to show arrival at Port Newark (next to Newark Airport). They're all under the Port Authority of NY/NJ.

Ahh, sorry. I forgot you were in the UK. Wonder if it’s a similar timeline for the US. My car is scheduled to arrive at the US port tomorrow.

Are you still seeing the Orion Highway "out of range" on Marinetraffic.com?

Seems like it should be getting close to land-based tracking on this side of the pond soon.

I am. I read the ships needs to be within 20 miles give or take for the land based tracking systems to work. If that’s the case, it be like an hour or two out before it pops back up.

My new M40i made it to the port last week Wednesday. Checking the shipping schedule to Galveston, TX, the next ship is leaving tomorrow April 24th. Is there any way to check if my car will make it onto the ship?

If not, there are several others over the next couple of months, but would hope it makes the first ship out, what is the average wait-time for you guys?

You’d be able to tell about a day after the ship leaves. Your status in My Garage would change to in transit. FWIW, mine was at the port for about 5 and 1/2 weeks before it shipped.

A trick I found on marinetraffic.com; Search for the vessel and then on the vessel page where it says it's Out-of-Range, look under Voyage Information. There are 2 buttons for "Past Track" and "Route Forecast".

Click on "Route Forecast" and it will open a map page with the route forecast starting at the last received position. For Orion Highway, it shows it from the Celtic Sea to Baltimore. But it also shows just one "Cargo Vessel" that would appear to be the location of the Orion Highway. You just can't get any detail. Right now it looks to be about 300 miles out from the Chesapeake Bay.

Fingers crossed it’s a glitch. That happened to me, but I was only in transit for like a day before it showed back at port. I took almost another 2+ weeks for me to actually leave the port.

Orion Highway is in Chesapeake Bay, but looks to be about 8 hours out from Baltimore (about 12 hours behind forecast.)

Not sure if it will be a significant delay for RigaTony1982 through the VPC, but it does delay the ship getting to Brunswick by a day (now Apr 29). Hope to hear from the PC next week when I can get delivery.
