Considering Pininfarina designed the exterior of every single Ferrari except the LaFerrari since the early 1950s, I'm not surprised by this. It built the chassis for many of them, too.

Thing is, Pininfarina's been in the turn-key car-building game before. It failed miserably, both under its name and the name of others, including:
- the Cadillac Allante
- the Volvo C70 convertible

It's been on the verge of failure since the late 2000s. It couldn't even turn a profit during the economic upswing before the Great Recession. It's now majority owned by Mahindra & Mahindra -- basically, the Honda of India.
