Hey Horseman, did it Friday morn, was a hoot. Great pix BTW!

Was really impressed by the pros. Here's what I posted on my Facebook timeline yesterday. Didn't have a phone at the autocross staging tent, (battery was charging on the other phone) my wife had mine at the hospitality tent.

Wow, did the BMW Autocross, taking turns 3 different times during the 1.5 hour motocross event in a new M440i coupe (think high performance). All circuit professionals, 8 cars, about 30 drivers in my staging tent. Had a 30 minute comprehensive class first, host was outrageous. My pro advised me as I whipped around sharp turns and then floored it coming out and down straightaways was herself a top notch circuit winner of all kinds of events including Daytona. 2nd event was a short race, electric vs gas. Then switch cars so you can feel this difference. (see video) This was open to the public. Lots of money, excellent setup and fine pros from all over sponsored/participated in this event. Only motocross pix of a M440i is in the video. Held at Seaworld. Free to the public too. Ends tomorrow if interested.

LoL yeah still not entirely confident in my abilities or what the car has the offer. But damn it was still exhilarating! Would have been awesome to meet you! Glad you had a great time. I had a blast. If it comes back here or next time it goes to Austin, I will go and bring my son. Did you drive up in your Z4? Once again…. Only G29, but there was a Supra nearby. :P

It really was fun! Wife is handicapped and the X5 is more accommodating. If you're ever up in the Fredericksburg area give me a PM first. I have a few gems for you, one of them being the back road we take from town to home. Beautiful old country drive - Lower Crabapple Road. Plus there's lots of cool places to eat and dozens of wineries and new distilleries to sample hill country wines and spirits. The (Scripp's) Alstadt Brewery makes some of the best German styled lager beers, period. Their Octoberfest is excellent for example. Last time I heard they had spent $55 million on the place and that was 2 years ago before they built a canning plant next door. They have a free antique tractor and train museum. Incredible place.

Outstanding! Sounds good. I’ve been wanting to come up that way actually. One day I wanna drop off my kid at school and then take the wife up in the Z4 there to do a winery tour or something.

Hahaha! You’ll notice there’s no Harmon Kardon in here…. Doesn’t even look like the touch screen is working and there’s no HUD!! You’d never know it was a 2019.

@Taz007 I drive it around town but the races I gotta go with a McLaren or C8 corvette…. Just got an Acura NSX too….

Yesterday was my first anniversary with my Z4! It has been a great year of smiles and long open top drives. Can't wait for more now that Melbourne is finally out of lockdown and we have been promised "no more hard lockdowns" due to high vaccination rates. I want to take the Z to the famous Great Ocean Road for a drive and some photos soon!

By a slim majority, Supras. Both are still relative rarities here. I think I've seen about 3 other Z4s (none in my colour) and about 5-6 Supras. Because my car is such a unicorn, I get a lot of admirers approaching me to compliment it and ask about it!

However, as I mentioned in another thread, there are three Z4s in my family alone - mine, my cousin's (red G29) and my uncle's (grey E85). On three different continents though!

For sure!! The three Z4s aren't even the only BMWs in the family - my cousin with the Z4 also has an M2 and I believe an X2; his parents have an i8; my uncle with the Z4 also owns two 3 Series sedans. We are a family of car lovers and BMW fans!

My uncle loves his Z4 so much that he paid $7 to park it for less than 10 minutes in a gated lot in downtown San Jose* while we bought pastries. He totally refused to park his precious baby on the street despite the $7 minimum charge at the lot

(*Although I'm from Melbourne, the US is like a second home to me because I have a lot of family there)

I understand why your uncle would do this because when I go to the supermarket I park at the far end of the parking lot which usually is empty instead of squeezing into a narrow space between cars where some idiot can slam their door into my baby!

You should post pictures of all 3 Z4's.
