What were you going to school for? Is the reason you don't want to go back because you're unhappy with your major? My only advice is to find something you're passionate about and pursue it. If you don't have that passion it will bite you in the ass later on, you'll just be going through the motions. If you're struggling to find what your passion is start broad and narrow down based on your interests. My little brother is your age, and he dropped out after 3yrs. Yet he is still pursuing a career in his field of study. His reasons were more financial related, the point is you can still go after what you want without a degree. Sometimes it just makes things more difficult in this day & age.

Happy Friday everyone!
We hired professional packers for our last two moves. Might sound pretentious, but frick me I can't go back now. I'd imagine its like flying first class (I've never done that though so I'm not sure).

Honestly, they bring their own boxes, paper and tape, they packed up our entire house (which admittedly wasn't that big - maybe just shy of 2000 sqft) in a little more than half a day. Boxed and ready to go. Everything. Couches had protective tape and crap around it, etc, all ready for the movers.

It was like heaven. I highly recommend it.

I thought about it. I really don’t have too much stuff to pack other than the massive amount of shoes, clothes and pocketbooks from my walk in closet. I figured I’d give it a go and could always cry uncle and have movers do the rest. I’m actually making good progress. About to start on pots, pans and dishes only leaving out those frequently used.

Don’t fly first class. You’ll never go back.

I was going for communications degree. Im good at public speaking and I like talking to people. I dont even live with my parents right now, I live with my gf right now and they got me covered till june or july. I thank them so much. Im trying to find a job to make some dough, when i was in school i use to work at whole foods and BMW. My passion was always voice acting but I dont know how to start or where to begin. I end up looking at craigslist for a gig or two but none surfaces.

So to be fair, that camping suggestion was aimed at his comment about being alone on his birthday that's coming up. No, hanging out with your friends wont cure what time and personal introspection will, but it wasn't supposed to. Just hoping the dude can get out amongst friends for his birthday and not sit home alone.

My magic cure was to keep busy. I remodeled damn near my entire house the winter my first wife left. New kitchen, new bathrooms, new paint, new doors, new floors. If i'm working on a project I find I can do some hard thinking but somehow it's easier for me to have those inner conversations if I'm also doing something. Just sitting there looking at a wall and trying to work things out in my head is enough to make me go crazy.

The answer is whichever one you will enjoy more and has some kind of future benefit. Whether that be networking, or promotion opportunities.

I took 5 years to finish college. I switched majors halfway through, and also worked full-time during school. Part of the reason was instead of taking a gap year I would take classes from other majors I was interested in to see if I wanted to make a switch.

I've never done a gap year, but I know a few people who have, and it really depends on your personality.

Some people take one and it really helps them focus, maybe they get into the real world and say "fuck, I need to go back to school", or sometimes they even find something else besides school that progresses into a career. Others never go back to school, and end up in a downward spiral. So if you take time off, have a goal in mind for what you want to accomplish during that time.

2/3 were. Both of them went back to school for different reasons, the third just can't seem to do anything whether it be school, the military, or a job for any period of time.

Hope you all don’t mind me hiding out here for awhile

I accidentally took our home network offline while my wife was on a conference call so she’s out for my blood

You probably already moved, but for future reference - is this what you had in mind?

No, didn't move yet. Still packing. Yes, this looks like a good one. I bought one of those silly red plastic ones from Home Depot. Thanks.

I can't wait to move out of my college apartment, decided to leave most of my kitchen stuff with my roommates (theyre staying for the whole year) since I bought the cheapest stuff I could find anyway

Plus my apartments have been smaller every year, so along the way I was able to throw stuff out, but this time it's REALLY small. Got rid of so much stuff and gotta admit, it's nice to not have a lot of stuff around
