I always hate it when they release these polarizing "Concept" cars, then what's released is just another incremental change to existing styling.
My first impression is it looks alot like a bunch of other sports cars of this era - clearly it's got the M4 style dash and gauges, the front looks like a pontiac and overall it reminds me of a lotus elise. That said, it's unmistakably BMW, and looks like a car Jame Bond would drive. I love it. ... well, everything except the passenger seat - I don't know what's going on there. It's like someone walked into BMW individual and was asked "do you want leather seats, or fabric" and they were like "Well, I can't afford full leather, so give me half half!" ... lastly, it looks like it's begging for a (slotted & drilled) big brake kit. Those front discs look tiny under those rims. |

I guess the next question is what do you think the MSRP will be?
Traditionally Z4s are more expensive than 3 series and get close to M territory. What do you guys think the MSRP will be?

The single best design element IMO is the forward leaning "shark" nose, like the BMW's from the past...
If they have solved aerodynamic issues from that design, it would be great if the production car can keep it.

I think they were trying to come close to this without actually copying it.

Wow, I love it. The camouflaged test mules made it look like an S2000, so I wasn't expecting this. Looks like it also has some influences from the Vision ConnectedDrive Concept. It's very sharp. I hope the final production car isn't too watered down.

Concept looks great, but if you look at spy shots of the test mule, it's obvious that the production car's styling is going to be a lot different. Like about 90% different. It may still look good, but I bet we'll only be seeing the design theme of the concept and none of it's real flash or pizazz. For one thing, a lot of the stuff we see on the concept isn't realistic when it comes to things like ground clearance, safety, crash performance, etc. Those are many of the things that give the concept its visual presence.
