Hey guys, I just got a 2021 Z4 M040i (really love the car), however it does not have Carplay or navigation. I really would like to have carplay. I know you can add carplay with a code but I don't think the car has a wifi antenna. I have seen people say that you can have wireless carplay work fine without a wifi antenna, is this true? If not, how easy is it to install an antenna into a car with iD7? I really can't find anything about the DIY process for the newer cars or is it just that these cars don't need one?

In which market are you? I thought all G29s supported CarPlay (and Android Auto with the update).

I also thought that CarPlay and Android Auto was standard worldwide for iDrive 7.

In your My BMW app, is “Smartphone Integration” available as a Connected Drive service?

In the My BMW app for my G29, “Smartphone Integration” is shown as an “unlimited” booked service. Hence my car has CarPlay and Android Auto.

Your phone can also connect via bluetooth (wireless) or a cable. Have you tried either of these ? Is your phone connected to your car at all ? Carplay was standard on OS7.

I think it is standard worldwide. But the genius at the dealer I bought my car asked me if I wanted it activated. I said yes and have no idea what he needed to do to make it so. But it works fine.
