No sport diff, and I just tried again and got this response, "Unfortunately your car isn't equipped with that feature".

I was responding to the Z question, but both the same. It’s gone for MY23.

I guess that counts as notification 🤷‍♂️ They also turned remote start into a subscription service after the first year. That one went over like a fart in church 🤦🏻

If yes, then since we know M40i cars come standard with the Adaptive M Suspension, then we have our answer on Adaptive Mode for 2023. It’s been slashed from the car entirely — voice command confirms that the car doesn’t have the feature. Last edited by 348SStb; 02-08-2023 at 09:07 PM.. |

Yes, actually I have mentioned that several times in other posts, but if you just look under my user name at Drives: you will see the answer.

Westside, what’s the mystery? It appears that Adaptive drive mode is gone.

At least in my case. I can’t miss something that I never had. I might of had it on my 850 but never used it.

To be honest, I can’t tell much of a difference between adaptive and comfort mode, but haven’t really put it to a ‘head to head’ test.

The first few months of ownership I only used comfort mode for driving on local roads and on the highway but when I switched to adaptive mode I noticed an increase in my mpg.

BMWAG has deserted existing series models with systems up to ID7.
The Driving Experience Control has been omitted with launch of BMW Operating System 8. The drive modes have since be firmly integrated into the My Modes and can no longer be selected separately. |

Its not about cost cutting
Folks:
Theres a global microchip crisis going on. BMW is not taking out features to save money or to make your lives miserable. Trust me they are not. They are doing it to try to keep as many customers happy as they can. Dropping the touch screen was a result of this chip issue a few months ago. Bose stereo systems take a lot of chips. So do heads up displays. BMW owners used the iDrive controller for 10 years satisfactorily with no touch screen. I sell parts to the car industry and I have seen the big cutbacks in production that have had to be made due to parts shortages. It's sad really. BMW cut back production of the cheaper 2 series lower end 3 series and X1 products so they could continue to build the performance models that we want. The soccer mom lease customers have had to do without their 330s for a while. Im sure the adaptive suspension module uses a number of chips that they couldnt get. Good news is things are getting better and production is increasing as more chips come to the market. by summer you should be able to find some inventory on the BMW AD lot. Quote:
