True, but .. I also wouldn't let it get to that. Even if it meant drilling into the front.

Filed in April. Let's hope this goes thru.
"S.B. 2012 seeks to remedy this by providing for an exemption to the two license plate requirement for vehicles that lack a dedicated area on the front bumper, due to the manufacturer failing to provide a location on the vehicle for placement of a front license plate." https://legiscan.com/TX/supplement/SB2012/id/182080 |

Soooooo I really do hope that this gets enacted. It has an effective date...
SECTION 3. Effective date: September 1, 2021. Shouldn't take even THIS long to review something as trivial as a front license plate requirement. |

Yeah. Surprised there isn’t something that can be secured in the grill. I think I might have an option…. Still involves some drilling…. But in a less than obvious location similar to the hide-away.

Understood from that hide away one. Not sure I'd get something like that though, don't really need the ability to hide it away. Texas requires that thing on full time. Hoping that changes this year though. I am looking at something that I might be able to put in the same location because I don't want it too much higher because of the kidney grille and the parking sensors.

Probably and it's frustrating. Talking with the shop I took my car to, they don't have the no sho bracket for the Z4 and absolutely did not recommend having it on the bottom due to potential shaking and scraping. He said... too easy to get clipped off.
Running out of options. Other option is to put it in the tow hitch area, but that may block one of the parking sensors. However, that could be a viable solution for a little bit so long as the car doesn't scream at me the whole time I'm driving. |
