Hi everyone,

I am Maxime from Lille, north of France.

Was looking for a G29 forum to share infos and experience with the owners community and it seemed that here is the most active one, that's why I am there guys

So here is the spec of the G29 I ordered beginning of May to a Hungarian BMW dealer for competitiveness reason (Thanks EU ) :

20i 197hp Engine / 6 speeds manual Gearbox
- M Sport Package
- Black Sapphire metallic paint / Full black Vernasca leather interior with white topstitching
- Two tones black polished 19 inches M799 allow wheels
- Extended M Shadow line
- M Sport brakes with blue calipers
- Mirrors package
- Alarm
- 4 years warranty

Planned in production W33, I should take delivery mid/end of September following matriculation and red tape stuff.

A few mods are already planned....

Welcome to the community. Congratulations on your upcoming Z4 acquisition, and what an excellent configuration! Smart choice of the manual gearbox, seeing as BMW may soon stop offering it on the Z4.

Welcome! That’s a nice build, especially with the manual transmission which is not available in the US. Once you get a build assigned you can call the BMW Genius line and start tracking online and share your progress with the group.

Yes manual gearbox is only available on 2.0 and only in some countries
For sure, we will have less and less manual gearbox in the future.....
@TAZ, what is "RAM"?

Welcome to the group. First and foremost, don't apologize for your English. I promise you, you speak better English than I do any other language!

Secondly, congratulations on your new build. Completely blacked out! Sounds like she's gonna be real pretty for ya! There are a couple of threads here that speak to how our build times went. Here are some links to those so you can compare.

@TAZ, what is "RAM"?

The RAM is the Receiver Audio Module. It is part of the HK sound system. If you scan over the threads Horseman linked, you will get a good appreciation to the part and frustrations we have gone through. As a case in point, my m40 completed production 18 MAY. It was in Houston 25 JUN, and it has been waiting on the RAM since 28 JUN. This stop sale part has delayed delivery for me approximately 6 weeks.

Exactly, a kind of full black except the wheels since I don't like the shinny aspect of the black ones proposed in option.... (in mat I would have thought about it ).
For the seats, I think that alcantara and leather match proposed was not very nice, the Cognac too orange in most of the situations (more brown like other BMW models I would have more appreciated), the Ivory too much contrasting and the red too flashy. But for sure all the combinations are fine !

@ Taz : I dont have HK, but I have the Hifi system included into the M Sport package which is a kind of intermediate solution between basic and HK one. So not concerned?

I was actually surprised at how orange the "lava red" leather was. I had actually test driven another one that had those colors and thought it to be really red, so I'm like.. alright no problem. But... when mine arrived it was very orange. Pictures show it to be very red though.

Yes there is a huge gap concerning Magma or Cognac when you are in dark conditions versus lighting or sunny ones. I choose a quite classic but chic combo

I have the black/cognac and was originally worried it was too orange, but I’ve really come to like it. It provides a bit of contrast. The more I’m in it the more “tan” it feels. It also depends on the lighting.

At least it doesn't absorb heat like black.

Cognac was my 2nd choice
I am a bit worried about black leather heat feeling but i pray
Especially because 99% chance I dont tint the glazing

Hopefully, your dealer does tint like mine did. Not very warm in the car at all even on hot days.

I got black leather in my M235 and it doesn't get as hot as the aluminum trim. I always burn myself getting in the car.

I had black leather in my last two BMW convertibles and I would never leave my top down in the sun while I was away unless I wanted to fry my butt when I got back. I’ll let you know how the cognac leather does.
