I think that the ivory color against the purple is too stark a contrast and that the cognac will give it a really classy look. That is my own personal observation and you may feel differently. 😉

I plan on upgrading to the m40 next year, Currently have Misano Blue and Magma Red with Jet Black Wheels with Extended Shadowline. For whatever reason I could not create a 2023 build I thought looked great . Would go with frozen gray if it wasn't such a pain to maintain . Might end up just getting white and wrapping it with a color similar to the launch edition Frozen Orange and then either Ivory or Black seats . Good thing I have about a Year to decide . Might Skip 23 all together since the 24 will most likely be getting iDrive 8

I was nervous at first to order the Frozen Grey, and really thought I made a mistake after putting in the order for my '22 m40i. But I have to say it looks absolutely fantastic and I couldn't be happier with it.
I have had it about 6 months now and maintenance isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Overall I dont think I would order any other color than Frozen Grey, also looks great with the moonlight top and shadowline trim |

The lines of the Z4 show better in bright colors. Which also happen to provide more visibility and therefore passive safety for such a small car.
I tend to think that sport cars call for colorful paint jobs, like Skittles. Grays and blacks are just sad. White is ok. If they had offered a lighter brown interior, I would've opted for red paint. As it is, I've ordered no charge white, which also provides a nice contrast to the black sensatec interior. I'll probably fry on a black interior with the top down, but that's the price to pay to avoid leather aging in this convertible...

BMW is showing the Frozen Orange again, this time in the new M3 Touring. If it was offered for the 2023 Z4 I would really consider trading my Misano Blue 2022 in for this outstanding color.

@CBEAR-AvHistory: cool to see someone else went from from an E88 to a G29. I had a '13 135i with the PPK before the M40i. Lots to love about the Z4, but man, that 1 series had character in spades too. Also, my vote is for Portimao Blue. I love dark blue cars and would've gone for it, had it been an option for my 2022. |

Saw portimao on an M340i today in super overcast weather at the dealership. Very nice color. Still lamenting no more Misano. Struggling to decide on PB vs TM. . . Do I risk putting another 20-30k miles on it before trading on the hopes that I get to see a TM and PB live???? Damn changes

Reserved
I’ve watched pretty much every YT video I can find on the g29 trying to decide on color and I happened upon a ‘22 low mileage CPO in triple black so went to test drive it. That settled the color scheme for me! Spectacular! It didn’t have all the options I wanted, but the dealer has a ‘23 Triple black that just completed production so today, I reserved it. For me the triple black is the only choice.

It was in the showroom on a cloudy day so looked a bit darker than I’ve seen that color look previously, but it was beautiful. And sorry I don’t recall if it had Shadowline, but doesn’t that always look good?

Portimao is awesome. I was so torn between Portimao and Sunset Orange when I got my current car. Went with the SO because of the interior color. I’m strongly leanings towards Portimao on the Z4.

However, my Misano blue still rocks and in my opinion is a more appropriate blue shade for a roadster like the Z4. |
