2025 Handschalter VIN Number Assigned!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!

I was pleasantly surprised this AM to see on MyBMW that I've been assigned a VIN number and that under Track My BMW: "Your BMW has entered the production queue." Awesomeness!!

This is the first BMW that I have ordered (vs. just spotting one and buying it at the dealer). Does anyone have a timeline/experience for how long it will take to produce from this point? My Dealer tells me that I was slated to start production in week 10...this notification seems early. The dealer was surprised as well and said that they heard that BMW is starting to produce this car a few weeks earlier than planned. Not sure if this is true, and I'm not complaining, but I wonder if others are hearing anything similar?

I was also wondering if other people are getting VIN numbers assigned at this point?

Just for fun I've shared my build below -

You get the VIN at status 150, Production begins. That means all the parts have been allocated and are available. It's typically about 2 weeks ahead of the actual build day. As an example, below are the dates from my order last year.

The biggest variables will be the awaiting transport and the At the port times as that depends on the shipping companies. I also had delays in Brunswick as I did PCD which pushed out the delivery a couple weeks and they have limited space at the PC. I see you are in NY and CO. If the dealer is in the NY area, you'll save 4-5 days over the trip to Brunswick going to NJ or Baltimore first. Going to CO would add a week or so after it clears the port.

Where do you find the dates? I can't seem to find that level of details on BMWUSA site nor their app.

Thank you @GerryC - this is a great guide and very helpful. My dealer is in CO, so based on your note, it will be another week or so for the car to get from the East coast...honestly, the car can't come soon enough. Thanks again and cheers to everyone on the forum - and cheers to BMW for producing this car!!

Might be longer since I understand Colorado cars come in through the west coast port (port hueneme).

They might, but with the backups at the Panama Canal these days they may ship from the east or gulf coasts. Last time I looked at the ship schedules, there were less than 20% headed to the west coast.

Galveston would probably be the shortest, but you can't be sure which they would use. Asking at your local CO dealership might get you an answer.

I got the dates for mine by looking at the calendar when the status changed on the My BMW site (which I was checking at least twice a day.)

Once it goes to scheduled for production, you can use the <F12> trick to see the predicted production date. Search the forum for threads that explain how to do it (several in the G05 forum.)

The schedule between status 150 and 155 is pretty consistent, but even then you can get caught in QA at the end of production if there's an issue. That can add 1 day to 2 weeks or more with no real visibility (I heard it's usually waiting for a replacement part.) The rest is dependent on shippers and customs, etc. so can vary significantly.

Thanks GerryC!

Located the F12 trick. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out:
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2037104

Mine shows a prod date of 3/1/2024.

Have any of you with a VIN been able to add your car to the My BMW app? I just get an error message.

Yes. I had to wait a day after the VIN appeared on the website for the app to accept it.

My Dealer showed me how to log on and add a vehicle to MyGarage - and I entered the production number to do so. A day or so after that, the car was assigned a VIN number.

Are you all paying for leather options and Shadowline? I thought those would be included since sensatec isn’t an option and thought I read shadowline was part of manual package. Thanks.

Leather options are included. The full shadow line package is not (I think its basically the headlight upgrades that remain)

Hi!

I have the following options - MAPQ (Full Cognac) - no charge, and ZHO (Shadowline) $550. It is my understanding that adding ZHO adds "552 Adaptive Full LED Lights," and you have to get ZHO to get the lights.

Hope that helps!

Thanks. Did they estimate the base msrp for you? Mine is $66,300 but am sure that is going up.

The new starting MSRP of $66,450 has been known since the 2025MY pricing guide came out. Not sure how a BMW dealer is not aware of this.

Just to be sure, the base price quoted is for the auto version. ZED package adds $3500 which includes the manual and some other things. But nothing new there.

Seems like all the video reviews of the HK are less than stellar. Is it worth the $875 or just a case of if spending this much what’s another option? Thanks.
