The standard lights are full LED as well. The Shadowline lights have an additional bulb that comes out when you put on your turn signal or when the wheel is turned past a certain angle. That’s the main difference (other than the darker color).

Thanks, I checked (as is my nature, sorry) and yeah it seems you're right. I'd thought this just did the trickery with your beams as they relate to oncoming cars, and thought all lighting packages turned the lights a little heading around corners. That is not the case, the 552 is needed over 5A2 for that.

Looks like I'll be adding the Shadowline Package after all.

Mine is one step behind … “Production begins”. I was told March 10 as my build start date. Pleased to be ahead of schedule!

I'm guessing if my order is "in" but still waiting allocation that means it won't start production in March? Fingers crossed I get in the next tranche of allocations.

In the same boat. From the information shared here we might find out week after next if we are in the April production pool.

Good to know I'm not the only one who's obsessively checking status everyday.

Same boat. My SA says that "BMW issued very limited" allocations. Shame I didn't get one of them since I've been expressing interest since early December. Who am I kidding? I'm straight up furious at this guy.

I’ve been talking to my dealer for a year, I am first on the list, and my vehicle inquiry report was submitted 2/2/24 (status 047). An allocation still has to become available to the dealership to get a production number. Not sure why you are furious unless they bumped you for someone else. There are 349 BMW dealerships in the US (per the 2023 BMW Center of Excellence Awards) plus they are producing them for other markets. Keep in mind BMW only sold 1883 Z4s in the US for all of 2023 and rollouts of new models take time

Time for a new client adviser. Call around - I’m sure it’s not that difficult to get one of these. Most are motivated to sell only what’s on the lot.
