Which colors look best on the Z4?

I put together this chart using standard production colors on current Z4 configuration sites. Any thoughts about which are your favorite color choices... or maybe rank them from best-to-worst?

I was going to go with the frozen grey but the San Francisco Red has been growing on me. I do like red cars and I think the Z4 looks good in red and black wheels. Interior white maybe?

I would need to see the front end though - that looked a bit weird in the frozen orange.

I can't believe that with all the concepts and pebble demo's in Orange that there isn't an orange options. I thought I saw one as part of a package on one of the EU sites, but I can't find it now. BMW seems less and less interested in giving people color choices. Just got a new X5, and options are basically black, white, and a few grays.

Frozen Orange is available as part of the “First Edition” package:

Wow, cool, thanks for the find!

Seems to have some orange in it as well? Not as dark as on the configurator. Don’t think I mind, just stating it / asking.

Here's the vid where I snagged the screenshots @6:20-8:00m.

I also noticed the subtle red-orange cast, but it's hard to know the exact color due to the 'warm' hues of the ambient lighting in the building, reflection from the yellowish floor, etc.

It looks good, regardless, and I like the apparent subtlety of the metallic effect in both SF Red and Misano Blue.

Thanks again! I was googling it, but couldn’t find it. I saw that review when it came out but I swear the red one wasn’t in there when they first published the review. They must have updated the video? Or I snoozed through the first couple minutes

Great find, many thanks for sharing!

I've actually got a Black Sapphire Z4 on order here in the UK but have only ever managed to view computer generated pictures until now.

Mine will be the M40i with Ivory White Leather, hoping it should be a pretty nice combo

It sounds stunningly bold.

I don't know whether I'd be more scared to maintain the black exterior or the white interior!

That was my initial thought - bet this would look stunning with white seats!

Lol... UK. They had a Z8 at that event. Someone made a YouTube video, unfortunately, very little about the Z4.

Is it just me or does the grey trim look odd, particularly on the Misano Blue car above? The mirror caps look really out of place to me, and look like tacky aftermarket add ons. On the front lower bumper, it just bugs the hell out of me that the outer pieces are painted grey, but the continuation of the lines to the pieces under the grill are black.

Per the ordering guide, the mishmash of finishes shown on the Misano Blue car won't be allowed. Everything in US production spec will be, ummm... tastefully coherent.

The grey trim is only for the m40i models. Black trim will also an option, but we do not have the m40i ordering guide yet.

Using the UK configurator, the exact Misano Blue m40i can be made.

Bring on the untasteful incoherence!

So the car in the middle is pretty much what I've gone for! Arrives in March

I was originally thinking to get White, but I'd have wanted the Black Mirror and Grilles with Silver alloys. Unfortunately that combo isn't offered in the UK:

Thanks, I can't wait either! I think my dealer is getting fed up of me constantly asking them for updates lol.

For custom builds it seems to depend on the market. They've really restricted the line up in the UK and it all seems to be based around options packs. So we can't individually specify much ourselves here, making a lot of the Z4s in photos impossible to order. However over in mainland Europe they appear to a more granular choice.

It was ironic that the Misano Blue Z4 M Sport on display at BMW UK the other day was another example of a spec combination which isn't actually possible to build here

Check these links. Can you track yours by purchase no. on the US or UK sites?
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1498620
https://www.bmwblog.com/2009/07/14/h...d-to-delivery/
Just given it a try but the US sites don't seem to accept my UK order number, and we haven't got an equivalent site over here for tracking. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, guess I'll just continue with pestering the dealer

Out of curiosity, what about that car cannot be ordered in the UK? In playing with the UK configurator, it allows me to build a M Sport 30i in Misano Blue, same wheels, and black interior.
