Long distance driving

Just gushing again what a fabulous long(er) distance driver the Z4 is. Love that Spotify is built in. And that the display shows upcoming tunnels

Wished the system was smarter with the speed limit signs though. Sometimes it's just for specific vehicles (e.g. buses) and it will display the wrong speed limit in the console & heads up. I was surprised how much I used this during longer trips, concentrating more on traffic through towns & construction sites, and let the system tell me what the current speed limit was.

And Spotify every doesn't display the song currently being played or jumps around somewhat erratically. But hope that gets fixed with a later update (July update maybe????).

Did a 400+ mile round trip to the beach about 2 weeks ago. Car was great. Pair of old farts 78 & 77years old felt very comfortable doing 3 straight hours each way in the car.

Normal drive mode for me is Sport+ but long distance go to comfort mode to get use of 8th gear. Passing ability in the 85 to 110mph range was ultra quick & made for an average door to door speed of speed of around 78MPH @ 30MPG.

I don't use the safety nannies like lane keeper etc but do use the basic cruise control over long stretches.

All in all very happy with the car.

I have the steering intervention off, but kept the steering wheel vibration on.

I am too very impressed with the fuel economy on interstates. Clarkson has it right - driving faster is better for the Earth 😜
