Rental car

On family vacation in Maui and we got a 528i with 3000 miles on it as a rental car. It's pretty base, and obviously not too fast, but definitely comfortable and a TON of trunk space. Great car!

Color is awesome! What can you do about the wheels tho haha. It's a base rental car. I was just surprised we got a BMW. We usually end up with a Chrysler or some other American car.

Nice rental. Yeah I'm surprised too - we usually go to Hertz or Avis or something and end up with an American, non-luxury car as a rental.

What rental car company is this?

Budget. Decent deal too. Only ~$180 more than the basic 'luxury' rental (Chevy malibu type) for 10 days.

$180 more total for all 10 days ($18/day more)? Wow that's an amazing deal.

Looks like Avis has something similar called "Avis signature series" where you can rent a 528i, X3, Camaro SS convertible, etc.

I think you did good, that's a very refined vehicle, lots of power and space. A german car is not what you normally expect from a rental. I usyally end up with a chrysler or ford. Perhaps they had run out of cars and the owner gave you his car! lol. Either way a great drive.

The owner of Budget cars (now a subsidiary of Avis) was a multi-millionaire socialite in the 1900s (granted he's dead now, although I'm sure his fortune has passed on to his heirs). I seriously doubt that 528i was his personal car
