I left one of my all time favorite groups off the list, Jethro Tull.

Listening to Aqualung or Thick as a Brick always inspires me when I am behind the wheel.

Have you considered using mouthwash for your Locomotive Breath?

No. I do go to Paradise Valley to visit relatives on occasion. Otherwise no attachment to AZ.

How’s this for a new Zed badge? Got it with my new Nikon mirrorless camera. Thought it suited the car quite well.

I just talked to my Sales guy about whether there was a counterpart to the 3DZ that could ADD side badges in the US. He said that strangely, they had received a few Z4s in the past that did have side badges by mistake, but as far as he knew, we couldn't request them. Then he called back and said that their liaison was going to try to get the factory to install them and he'd get back to me. Stay tuned.

Your design idea is to have side badges but no rear badges?

Codes may be unclear. 3DZ is a special equipment code to delete side badging. Deleting 3DZ (added by BMW NA as NA standard) means side badges would be included as factory equipment.

I see. And yes, whether they'll put on the side badges at the factory or whether I have to put them on myself, I'm doing side badges, 50th Anniversary badging and no emblems on back.

Got it. Sounds like you're in good hands at your store. Good luck!

Their factory liaison says the answer is.... No. The standard US setup of no emblems can't be deleted to add them.

Anything you can share that would generally apply to requests to delete equipment that is standard in our market but not factory standard? I believe "standard" is something of a magic word.

I went all black, as usual. Including all emblems, roundels. Those red calipers need to go!!! Next mod.

I personally love the contrast that the red calipers give the car. Don't forget the tail lights are red also.

The red is nice, but I'm an all black guy as you can see from my last car. The last 5 all looked like this. The black calipers just look stealthy.

I have no light to shed and it makes my brain hurt thinking about the logic, although asking to delete a standard deletion does seem intrinsically different than requesting an option that's just not normally available. So I guess I'm not that surprised they said no. Basically, we can't be trusted with these emblems here. Is the US the only market where the side badges are standardly non-standard?

I wonder who makes these market decisions and what the rationale is?

Now if you could just paint those brake rotors black, you'd be set!

Love the Animal Farm reference. It's more applicable now than ever.
