What makes you say that? Not arguing, just genuinely curious. There's a few companies I truly loathe but I didn't know there was anything controversial about them.

Also that whole article. WTF?

Had some tires wear out ridiculously early and they, essentially, told me to F off.

I mean, I can understand because they probably get a million calls a day from kooks that don't understand their suspension is busted and eating tires. I've never encountered a bad tire from manufacturing in that way. Not saying it can't or didn't happen, but I can understand why they might not believe you.

I didn't say you're wrong or making it up. I just can understand why Michelin is dismissive beyond them being a huge corporation that doesn't care anyway.

Can't really trust anyone that owns a Miata and a Hellcat. That's like being a bipolar chick with split personalities.

I had fitted a used nearly new michelin and after 3 years had to replace it with another as cracks were forming all around both sides of sidewalls..it came off a GTR so understandable it had a hard short life there.

I agree. I would think a mis-manufactured tire would show some abnormal road behavior well in advance of wearing out early. The chance all four tires were mis-manufactured and ended up on the same car is highly unlikely.

Well, it was more than one:

"Had some tires wear out ridiculously early..."

So, either it was two tires, 3 tires, or 4 tires. Or it was two (or multiple) separate instances of different tires wearing out early. If that was the case and Michelin told you to F-off the first time, it must mean you went back for more pain. That would then be on you.

Yup, Pilot Sport AS4's on all three of my BMWs. Love 'em. 4th set on the E90 and 2nd set on the Z4. The Z3 is up next for a new 2nd set soon.

Prices between all these major tire.manufacturers are similar?

Wow it's almost like they use the same materials, similar processes, have similar overhead, and base their pricing off market demand and market analysis...
