The nonsense is with the travelling. For a wife or family, yeah, I get it.
But a girlfriend?
Have you guys though on the impact you're imposing on the world by your carbon footprint?
Either marry her or move on.
I'm in the military and I ask for extra work shifts (I work air maintenance on the fighters, and we have day and night shifts, and sometimes 24 hour ones) which result in complimentary time off per extra shift, plus we get 25 days of paid vacation per year we can take at any time once you hit 5 years of service.

I basically just stack vacation days to holidays if the month has any, and if not I just use the complimentary time off days with the vacation days to get the week off

It's easier to stay in a long distance relationship when you can get time off to see your SO, but sometimes you gotta put in effort and work for it.

I'm hoping she makes the time to go to you as well (which mine does when I work on the weekends)
Sometimes I wish I had a 328i again, I remember getting absurd gas mileage on the highway, something between 40-43 MPG, my 335i only gets 30-32 MPG

Now I do confess that I have an '18 ForesterXT and a '19 Crosstrek. I am driving the Crosstrek a lot more than the Forester to get the miles close to equal since we are 73 y.o.. But IMHO its not a shitbox. Beemers probably disagree though...lol

But trips are 100% Forester since it is much more comfortable!

Honestly, if the cabin is somewhat quiet, have heated/cooled seats, comfy smooth suspension, good sound system, and decent gas mileage, I don't care what I'll drive as long as it has those options in it.

But now since she moved , i'll be putting probally 250 miles on the trip alone (will be driving around the city etc , date night ). Part of me wants to just use my other car which is a mazda 3 with 185k miles I use for work etc, but seems no girl really likes that even though they don't mind (they like the finer things right). Anyways, I'll be using up lot of gas and lot of money on different date stuff and wondering if any of you guys have to visit your gf and drive long distance and rack up the miles. Now I'm guessing I'll be putting around 12-14k miles a year now (which is around avg but guess preserving is out of question).

Well, guess this will be good test of my patience and if it doesn't work out then, I'll just resell my car in few years and get a better car and remember to not find significant other that lives far. lol

What the fuck did I just read? Dude, dumb the money hungry hooker and get a new chick. One that is not in walking distance of your spot but no more than 10-15 miles away. And for the love of God stop making every night a date night; most of your hang outs should be Netflix and head night. Do me a favor add up how much you spend on this chick every month? And why can't this hooker come to see you?

Over 1,000 horsepower, thanks to a Hellcat V8 transplant and a Whipple supercharger. Check out the license plate:

I don't get whats wrong about having a beater vehicle as a daily. I love the hell out of my M2, but I don't like driving it everyday. Too many people not paying attention going to/from work kinda saps the enjoyment out of it. So does sitting in traffic, racking up tons of miles, and bad mpg. Between my 2 cars, I've been spending over $400 a month on gas, hence why one is for sale so I can get something easier on the wallet. Plus I don't like cleaning the M, and then driving it around in the rain the next day, sort of a waste of my 2 hours. I like keeping my nice things nice. 0% chance when the salt hits the road that the M2 is going out.

I would have a nice beater so at least you're in a decent car and folks don't think they are better than you just because their car is nicer. So maybe a slightly older Lexus or Acura if you want something reliable but that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I don't give 2 shits what other people think about me. I actually feel like a constant chach driving the M2 around... I'm looking at cars that are sub $3000 for my daily, that way I don't really care what happens to them.

You should watch JR Garage on YouTube. They buy cars in that price range but they don't look like beaters.

Nothing wrong with a beater, I'd get one too if I needed but a Prius is next level beater lol.

I'm good off that.
