Hennessy Performance Engineering is a big mess

Interesting article brings to light some issues with the custom tuner. I never would have thought to question a company that holds such a prestigious record but based on the info in the article, I was wrong and thought the rest of the community here should take a look.

I've been amazed that people continued to send him business after the first reports broke years ago. The guy is a crook...

That's terrible. I would understand if customers expected quick turnaround times but seeing how these projects can take months, I don't see why you would need to take parts from other cars and leave the donor car bare. And seeing how there is a deposit or full cash up front, there should be no reason to really be strapped for cash if you correctly projected margins. Obviously they were grossly mismanaged but I don't see how it got that bad.

+1. Providing this guy free marketing is the last thing car magazines should be doing if they really care about car enthusiasts. It gives legitimacy to a guy that hasn't earned it himself.

Seems to me magazines are hard up for content.
Wouldn't be surprised at this point the car companies can pretty much extract what they need out of the magazine editors.
Weren't there all kinds of rumors about Carol Shelby for a long time, not till internet blogs/sites/forums did the subject start to gain traction and by soon after some news releases concerning legal remedies and getting things kosher.
