There are similar gloss black 'scoops' at the mouth corners of every new M Sport model: X3/X4, 8 Series, X5, 3 Series... A way, I guess, to inject a little bit of sophistication and an opportunity to add some more of the typical M Sport associated gloss black trim. I agree they made them very large and obvious on this Z4, however we can notice there is at least an indirect visual unity between these gloss black trim pieces and those installed in the side air intakes around the 'Air Curtain' slits.

Looks terrible, but could it be for radars for all the driver assists? If so, I'll take mine without all the aids - a car like this is supposed to be driven manually anyway

I think the car looks great and will be on my shortlist when I'm ready to ditch my 35i. What I think is missing (for me) is easily accessible cup holders (I don't want them in the rear of the center console) and ventilated seats.

I don't mind the frozen silver in the video. Over all looks great except the front on red - I have to think twice on the color combo. My next bimmer

Do we know if BMW plans on building a version with the M4's engine? They could call it the M Roadster!

To my eyes both front and rear overhangs seem to be too long, giving the car some kind of dwarf stance.

...just watch the video. These 2 cup holders are useless. Can't close arm rest when using cupholder

Yes, it looks good and it may have a few useless gadgets on the dashboard, but...

The old Z4 35is from 2010 had the same power and torque as the new Z4 in (at least in Europe), but with a better responding N54 twin-turbo engine and also a DCT gearbox instead of an automatic.

Looks to me that the new Z4 iteration is offering less value to the customer, not more like it should. I'm sure it will also be way more expensive than the old Z4 35is.

I'm sorry but those proportions just don't look right, it looks too small (is it me?) the previous Z4 was long with a Penelope Pitstop look to it but this new Z4 just looks too short. Maybe it's the angles the photos are taken at but with those headlights and a short wheelbase it looks like a baby shoe.

I have the same strange visual impression. Something went wrong in the process of design conversion from the concept to this one. The car has lost much of its dynamic and powerful appearance and seems to sag somehow. It really provokes strange comparisons.
Interior is ok, though too sedan like and voluminous for my roadster taste.
I'm really disappointed.

Hopefully it's " forgot to install" as in.... " won't make it to production." ..

3300lbs. I'm sure the car will be faster than BMW says.

Besides the lack of a manual option, this is also probably the first BMW roadster where "cute" could be used to describe it...and that's not a good thing.
interesting.. because " cute " is about the only adjective I have for the original Z3 1.8/1.9

It's a good looking car but something about it is just missing. It seems over-styled and quite the hodge podge of different styling cues.

The previous Z4 was disappointing from behind the wheel, but boy was it a timeless design. Now that looks like a BMW roadster:
