Congratulations on your delivery! All black with the tan interior would have been my second choice. Looks beautiful. Enjoy!
Performance Center Delivery is definitely the way to go! |

That’s the great thing about this car. It looks great in so many color combinations, but for me, this was just right. All I can say is that my impressions after driving their M40i on the track were well beyond my expectations. It was a blast to drive through the slalom course (even better because it was wet) and it made all the right pops and crackles. There was a V12 7 series ahead of me and I had to keep stopping to let him gain some distance. This thing is a beast. |

The car is amazing. Having come from the 650 I wasn’t sure I how I was going to feel, but let me tell you, this car is awesome and really fun to drive. We all made the right choice.

Sweet, I'm curious how it will be coming from a M235 convertible. The M235 has 1-in longer wheelbase but 60HP and torque less. Weight is about the same.

Will it ever get here???
I ordered my Z4 on April 19. Sat in Germany for weeks. Finally made it onto the "Niagara Highway" and dropped off at Brunswick on 6/19. Should've delivered 6/24. I'm now being told there is a recall for welding to the fuel tank… Am I the only one being given this particular reason? My representative has no ETA on when recall will be completed.
Yes, it's just a car, but man!!! It's sooooo frustrating.

Quick update: I dropped the car off at 8am this morning for the Xpel install and I helped remove all the blue painters tape. The good news was that it worked and there wasn’t a single scratch or chip on the car and only a few minor spots of tape residue that they will take care of in prep. I should have the car back tomorrow and I can start working on adding to the scenic photos thread! I’m looking forward to the rest of you joining in.

Agree, but 4500rpm on break-in? I recall no more than 2k for first 500 miles and no more than 3k for the next 500. What did they tell you?

On a production line, sometimes a part is missed placing it into quarantine. The good news, they caught it prior to delivery.

Oh WOW .. only 4500rpm for the first 500 miles? That's gonna be hard to do haha! Shoot, I've test driven cars higher RPMs than that.
As far as your car sitting in Galveston for 5 days... I'm surprised that you haven't gotten any word on that yet!! SA say anything about it? hell you could have gone down there and gotten it yourself! Zfournicorn, sure do hope it's just bad info... seems crazy that it would have made it out of QC. |

The Z4 Performance Delivery guy told me to stay under 4500RPM for the first 1200 miles and to vary the RPM. Most of the highway drive home I was well under 2k with a few brief points over 2k with light acceleration during passing. I may have hit 3k for a few seconds. Now that you mention those specifics I’m going to have to go look at what the manual says.
