It's Thunder Midnight over Cognac/Moonlight Black. Shadowline with jet black 799M wheels.

The waiting starts.

Congrats! If you're scheduled for production, should be quick. My status changed to "At Port" today. Took about 2.5 weeks to hit this from the "Scheduled for Production" status.

Sounds like you’ve got yourself a Unicorn of Unicorns.

We found an M240i in Thundernight on a dealer's lot. I find it very attractive and my wife really likes it.

It's quite bold, but it works well on the Z and 2er. I think it would be a bit much on a 7er.

This will be our 4th and most epic Z4 to date.

Regrettably, based on the rumors of it being the last, it is bittersweet. 🥲

Probably depends on what status your order was in when you placed it. For example, my order was already in status 112, which is one before production begins. It is also the last status where you are able to modify the build. I lucked out in the timing of mine, as if I had waited a week the build would have been locked and I would have had to either wait for another build slot or take the build my dealer had already submitted.

I know a few semi-important people, but none of them are associated with BMW.

My CA didn't confirm it, but based on past experience the dealership had a March allocation set for inventory and converted it to my build. I signed the paperwork about 9:30 am and got a text from my CA at 4:30 pm with the production number. My CA had been pretty non-committal about how long it would take when I was signing.

I did drive 2 hours to this particular dealership as it's the largest one the company has in the area. I figured they'd have more allocations. I had talked to a CA at the dealership where I've been getting my current cars serviced (smaller market) and he said he had a couple clients waiting for allocations for several months.

This will be the tenth BMW I've purchased from these two dealerships (they're both owned by the same company) and I've been happy with their deals and service.
