I'm still trying to figure out the scale, though. Were you standing right there? In other words, is the sand just a few feet from the camera? And what is that ridge running down the middle?

^^^^Wow. When it comes to artistry, Mother Nature puts us all to shame.
 I don't see that cropping and desaturating is an issue. I think the rules mean you can't remove or add features, like a nicer sky.

Sometimes less is more. If done right you can convey a lot with just a little. I'm really liking the minimalism idea. Might have to change my submission if I get time to shoot something better soon.

I took this on the Fourth of July in Lakeside, MI. It's a picture of the light emitted from downtown Chicago. I completely forgot about it until just now.
