Masa’s test results positive

Latest examination in Miami has proved successful. Felipe Massa is flying back home to Brazil after completing a thorough medical examination in the United States. Official press release from Ferrari explains that Massa underwent neurometric tests - to check the brain's electric activity - as well as impact and cognitive capacity tests.
The next step will involve plastic surgery in the area of Massa's head where the helmet was pushed in. Massa is expected to have a small plate inserted into his skull at the area where it was damaged.
Felipe Massa is continuing on the path to a full recovery in order to race in F1, although a return this season has now been ruled out.

I'll be the first to admit that Felipe Massa annoys the hell out of me - he is way down on the list of favorite drivers, something about him just gets to me.

That being said, this is excellent news - would hate for such a fluke incident to sideline a talented driver.

Good to hear that he's doing better and hopefully he'll be back in his car later this year so that Ferrari's second car can get a good "weesult".

Bummer that he won't be back this season. I was really hoping he would make it back for Brazil, it would have been Biblical if he came back and won that race. The crowd would have gone insane.

Do you guys think he will ever be the same? Will he ever be as fearless again behind the wheel of an F1 car? Can any human push to the limit after coming so close to dying at the wheel of that car? I hope he can.. I know I would be retired for sure after something like that

Yeah for sure. If he did, Puma should make him a Brazilian flag suit like they did for him when he won it in 2006.

He tested for 6 hours today in a simulator. There's still talks of him coming back for Abu Dhabi.
