Finding a good deal on a used G29 is proving to be difficult

I'm in the market for a 2019-or 2020 G29 and so far it's been a challenge even in Oct in the North East. Should I wait until the winter?

I'm using cargurus, cars.com..etc and willing to travel, but I notice they're not lasting very long.

Thoughts?

A 2019 with 11k miles is going for 47,900. I did find a 2020 with 857 mikes for 48k, but I was too late.

I got a June 2019 M40i with 5600 miles and all options except shadowline for £36k at Jardine Select in Bracknell. I used Autotrader to source it. The key is knowing how to identify the options without them being in the description. The dealership didn't know what the driver assistance package was but I could tell from the steering wheel. Deals are out there if you're patient. It took me about 3 months to find mine.

How can I tell which packages are in the Z4 if the dealer doesn't know?

Get the VIN and do a VIN lookup.

Finding a late model where I live is near impossible. Nearest I can find from time to time is a good 200 or so miles away.

New Z4's are rare and finding one with the configuration, mileage, colors, etc. you want has been impossible for me.

Ordering one is the way to go but BMW dealerships will not discount much if any and there's no incentives or discounts out of BMW N.A.

Is the overall new car market just tight in the U.S. because of the Covid thing? Apparently new cars sales have been good no matter the brand.

If you are willing to travel to East TN I am going to be trading mine in soon and I have no problem selling private party, 2019 (bought new 1/2020) 3.0i blue/cognac/M-sport, 3500 miles, 57K msrp. Nice car but I dont drive it much.

Used car market is rough out there, new isnt much better.

Got mine as a dealer demo with 7k miles on it. Look around at all the dealerships and maybe you can find around a CPO model like that. The drop from MSRP I got (12k) would definitely outweigh cost of travel to pick it up IMO.

Allocations are pretty much non existent nationwide. I talked to a Autonation internet sale manager yesterday and all they can offer is 1 allocation for a 40i only each month beginning Feb. - April.

I want a 30i with certain colors and options like the Dynamic Handling Package.

I asked Herb Chambers BMW in Boston today and they have no more allocations. Is this a bad sign for the Z4?
