Yeah, considering the F10 already has a longer wheelbase than a 1977 Olds Delta 88 Royale, at this point one would hope like heck that BMW is done with the ridiculous growth in car proportions.

Per OP, F30 ends 10/18 so G20 starts 11/18 (that's November 2018).

Final F30 model year would be an MY2018 starting sometime in 2017, so inaugural G20 model year would be MY2019 (which is also noted in the OP).

When does MY17 end for F80/82? Is it March 2017 or June 2017?

Looks like BMW will probably mirror what they did with the F30, having a short 2019 model year as they did with the F30 2012 model year. Beginning G20 production in November would indicate new models making it to the U.S. in January or February 2019.

I haven't checked this thread in a while, but are there any speculations as far as the new M3 (MY2020) being RWD or xDrive only? Also, will BMW kill 6MT with the new M3 or do you guys think they'll let it live?

Sorry, if it was covered, I just don't want to read 15+ pages. Thanks.

So there won't be a 6GC? There will be a 6GT instead, and 6GC will move to the 8 Series lineup?

So they will make no Z4 but have both 6-series and 8-series convertible. Hrm.

Not into heavy cars.

No, 6 series designation will be handed over to the 5GT replacement.

In the absence of two-door 6 Series models, they may finally take the opportunity to separate the 3 and 4, moving the 4 considerably up market. This has been incorrectly predicted for two generations now (the E92/E93 were originally going to be called 4 Series too, but that was reversed and delayed until the F32/F33), but the move seems more compelling than ever if the 6 goes away. Or, if they don't go this route then there is going to be a massive gap between the 4 and 8. Of course, even moving the 4 up won't close that gap completely. And interestingly, Mercedes will be positioned just right to fill it with the upcoming C238/A238 two door E Class models.

And it would appear an M6 equivalent is gone too unless they will build a true M8 which seems a bit unlikely. By contrast, E63 coupe and convertible are coming to join the E63 sedan and touring.

31 Dec 2017 as all other years...
You should really stop this MY nonsense. Besides, doesn't BMW modify things once per quarter anyway? So there are 4 different versions within a model year anyway.
Production date is what counts.

I wonder how the M35i engine would be mounted on the X1/X2 chassis...
