I don't know if it was courting or combat, but for over an hour these two were going at each other and screeching like mad.

Just catching up after a week walking in The Algarve, Portugal.
Some wonderful images from everyone. Here's one from last week (I'm only just starting to go through them) - The Lighthouse at Alfanzina - Farol de Alfanzina by Alan Butterfield, on Flickr

Great coyote shot, Ed. The shallow DOF makes it look like it's almost floating.

They look like juvies to me. Guessing they're getting pushed off Mom and Pop's territory and making their way on their own. |

I agree. It could also be play, which also fits the juvies' profile.

I've noticed that the juvie raptors can be very vocal this time of year. My theory is that they are hungry and begging for their parents to feed them. Of course, they don't get fed and learn to hunt for themselves when they're hungry.

Josh, all you need is a red balloon floating in there somewhere. Classic shot.

Thanks Dave -- this is at the Haulover Inlet, near Bal Harbour just north of Miami. It's basically Miami...
