Allocation received today for mid April production, i added the Prod # to the BMW website but dont see all the options , does it take some time? It been more than 5 yrs i ordered by last BMW and dont remember.

Build is Skyscraper gray with Magma red interior , Handschalter package

Pure Impulse is the name of the package to get the manual in Europe. Guess Europeans like an English term and Americans a German name for the package. Marketing…

But my car is in USA and shows Pure Impulse name in the build in BMW website but the build sheet sent by dealer has Handschalter package , what are other American builds showing in BMWUSA website?

Placed my order 15 March and it started production 19 March with VIN assigned. Looks like I got lucky on the front end. Fingers crossed this pace continues.

My order was accepted. My dealer only got one allocation so far and said he had no idea if he’ll get any more for the year. I’m not sure if this was just a ploy to get me to make a hasty decision. I’m still on the fence with replacing my GT4 with this and it’s purely an economical decision.

It’s week 17 so I think I have about a week or so to back out before it locks and my deposit becomes non-refundable. Based on this forum, perhaps someone here would be willing to take it if I change my mind by delivery.

Your GT4 will probably increase in value. This will drop $20k in one or two years. So for economic reasons keep this reality in mind. That said, your maintenance and insurance is another factor to consider. What year is your GT4? Is it a 6 speed or PDK?

It may. It’ll at minimum it should hold its value I think. It’s a 2023 with 2200 miles, manual, chalk. Everyone says Porsches hold their value until you’re about to sell one then it’s worthless because it doesn’t have “buckets or ceramics” or wanna show you BaT comps to lowball you. I also never drive it so I feel guilty with it just sitting in the garage.

Does GT4 come in boxster or only in cayman form? And your insurance and maintenance is probably $5k/yr, so I totally get what your dilemma is. Have you driven the Z4 yet? It’s a lot more comfortable.

Yes, it’s called a Spyder. That’s even more rare- less of those produced. They’re both out of production now. There is a Spyder RS coming soon. Those are going for 50–100k over sticker. Next gen, I believe Caymans will be electric. My insurance for both cars is only like 2k a year. No maintenance required yet.

I just drove one this past weekend. I felt more comfortable in my GT4 though. The Alcantara feels a lot nicer than that weird leather.

Ok, my $0.02 is you’ll regret trading for the Z. As much as I loved my Z, the GT4 is a great investment and fantastic weekend toy. Z is more a practical daily with a fun streak.

Thanks - that’s what I thought, but my dad told me this morning that he saw a GT4 boxster at the gun range. He must have been imagining things unless they made one years ago. He also said it had a fixed wing. He probably imagined a soft top where there wasn’t one. He’s heading to the eye doc this morning so maybe that will help.

I worry about that too but my car payment will literally drop by $1100/mo and my M2 turns eight next month. At least I can drive the Z4 places instead of trying to geo locate parking spots before I go anywhere in the Porsche.

What has the dealer offered you for it, if you feel comfortable sharing? Or are they mum until you put a deposit in? It’s gotta be worth $135k+ even without buckets and CCB’s.
